Seki Made Phil Wilson Design?

Post by mpc2 »

The K390 Enuff 2 made me think about it.
A Phil Wilson Design (Meadows Skinner ? ? ) , with FRN handles, and K390.
That would be nice indeed I think.
(I ´ll get the Enuff 2 anyway)

I’d be really into this.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I would be into it, Seki does some of Spyderco’s thinnest behind the edge grinds.

Why specifically a Seki Japan made new knife?

A new design could be made anywhere, and cost of production has typically been higher in Japan and had some of the lowest quality. I think most people would advocate for a new model (such as you're suggesting) being made in the U.S. or Taiwan.

Because Golden ´s capacity seems more limited and Seki does a very nice Job on K390. I haven´t thought about the resulting price very hard yet, but I believe this could be far less expensive than a taiwan made G10 fixed blade.

Seki does indeed do a great HT on K390. Perhaps when the Golden extension is up and running we'll get to see a fixed Phil Wilson collaboration. An upscale fillet in MagnaCut perhaps?

I don't hunt anymore but 100% I would buy this. Still keen to buy another Sprig as well if Spyderco does a re-run. K390 is a good choice. I hope this doesn't change into a thread of "yeah, but do it in this SS or that".

I doubt I'd buy a skinner specifically, but a bird and trout, a fillet, a boning knife... I'd be in!

Same handle as the Enuff, in Seki K390 blue!

K390 Sprig would be a huge win!

It looks more like a slightly modified sprig, as per Phil Wilson´s homepage:

I'd definitely buy a southfork or sprig in K390.
