Days of the Week, Spyderco Style

#1

Post by Bolster »

I’ve been enjoying the “days of the week” invented by Spyderco forumites who post certain models on specific days, and tried to remember all the ones I’ve seen while making a list (and adding a few) and UPDATED:

Sunday: Sprint-run Day, Yojumbo-day, Sage-day, Spyderco Sunday, Sal Sunday
Monday: Manix Monday, Matra-day, Millie-day, Micarta Monday, McNees Monday
Tuesday: Titanium Tuesday, Cru-sday, Mules-day, 2-day (for PM2, DFly 2, etc), Tanto Tuesday
Wednesday: Wharnie-day, Wegner-day, Wharncliffe Wednesday
Thursday: Throwback Thursday (well established!), Three-knife Thursday
Friday: Fixed Friday, Friction-day, Favorite Friday, Flipper Friday, Framelock Friday,
Saturday: Serrat-urday, Salt-urday, Sham-urday, Chapp-erday, Szabo-day, Cat-urday

Honorable mention
Yesterday: Jesterday

Others? Ideas?

Sunday could be - Sprint Run Sunday or just the reliable Spyderco Sunday.

There are the some of the less Spyderco specific ones for Monday like - Micarta Monday or McNees Monday.

Any second iteration model who’s name ends with a 2 works for Tuesday - PM2’sday, Dragonfly 2’sday, Manix 2’sday. There is also Titanium Tuesday or Tanto Tuesday.

Cruwear Wednesday used to be one I’d use on occasion. Wharncliffe Wednesday is another common one.

Thursday is a tough one but Throwback Thursday is always a go to. I’ve tried to force it with “Three Knife Thursday” but Throwback Thursday just reigns supreme.

Friday has a few - Framelock Friday, Flipper Friday, Fixed Blade Friday.

For Saturday it could be - Salt Series Saturday or again just the reliable Spyderco Saturday.

Model specific - Cat-urday

For me today is 15V Thursday. It doesn't make any sense other than it's what I want to carry today!

SlipIt™ (or Slip-joint) Sunday could be a thing.

You could do a whole bunch of specific model-, lineup-, or collaborator/designer-themed days.

For Monday you can use: Manbug, Manix, Massad Ayoob, (R.J.) Martin, Matriarch, McBee, Military, Minarai, Moran, Mule Team.

For Tuesday/Thursday, you could theme the days around the Tasman Salt, Temperance, Tenacious, (Bob) Terzuola, Techno, (Sacha) Thiel, (Warren) Thomas, Thrower, (Ralph) Turnbull.

For Wednesday: Wakiita, (Michael) Walker, Waterway, Watu, Warrior Hawk, and (Tim) Wegner

For Friday... maybe "Fish Hunter Friday" or "(Bram) Frank Friday"?

For Saturday/Sunday, you could go with Sage, Salt, Santoku, (Ed) Schempp, (Ed) Scott, Shaman, Siren, Sliverax, (Marcin) Slysz, (J.D.) Smith, Smock, (Mike) Snody, (Brad) Southard, Spydiechef, SpyOpera, Squeak, Street Beat, Street Bowie, Subway Bowie, Stretch, Subvert, Swayback, Swick, and (Laci) Szabo.

I'm kind of baffled as to what would be the perfect day of the week for the new C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run?

Maybe "G-10 Friday" might resonate with most of the Spyderville community. But "Sprint Run Sunday" sure seems to have a harmonious flair to it.

I'll just let the gang decide on what is best.
