It looks like I will be joining the HH newsletter community. My other HH UKPK is really excellent quality and a great EDC. I prefer their G10 version by miles over the standard FRN/FRCP. It just feels more solid and higher quality to me. I have wanted a drop point version of this knife for quite a while and I hope that Golden gives this one equal treatment of the last HH run. Now to go sign up!

EDIT: Thanks for the heads up Chris. I am now on the list. I am pretty excited about this one.

I received notification teaser and curious what the steel will be on the variation . I’ve never had this model and will wait to see price , the Red G10 would be a first for me . MG2

The better original photo shows s30v on the blade.

Maybe Sal is saving K390 for the wharncliffe UKPK….

I would like to see this in forest green G10 as a forum knife or something so I could get one.

Yes I noticed that myself , not entirely opposed to the steel , just hoping for something a bit different. Dan

Anyone have trouble with the checkout not working?

EDIT: Ordered. I had to end up going through PayPal to get it to work.

Really excited about this one. Will be my first UKPK. I’ve been waiting for a g10 version of some kind, hoping for this exact one.

I got a HH UKPK DP as a warranty replacement a while back, (backspacer broke on a HH UKPK) and while it's a perfectly good knife I don't really see any benefit to the shape over the leaf.

To all those who prefer the DP, what is it that makes you prefer it over the leaf?

Thrust cutting or opposite of draw cutting. Skinning, caping, etc. Many applications where a needle point on a knife is not warranted. Some things I'd just rather not poke holes in. :winking-tongue

If this is done to the same quality as the leaf blade a couple years ago, this will be a great knife. I wouldn't second guess it if I didn't already have the one mentioned.

Basically what Skeeg11 said. There’s less risk of puncturing something that I don’t want a hole in and less risk of damaging the tip if I hit something hard with it. Since this is a slip joint it makes the second scenario less likely because I won’t use it as hard as I would any type of locking folder but it applies to drop point knives in general.
