Saw on FB that a Jade G10 M4 Poliwog is coming. Really surprised they brought back this model, but interested to see how it looks with natural g10.

Wow, they're taking a chance with that one.

I'm definitely in on this one though, I've always thought it was an interesting model.

I still have one of the original ss poliwogs. In fact it was one of the first spydercos I bought. It’s a neat design, but in the end I find it too heavy, too thick blade stock and too short of a blade. Oh, also it’s too wide in the pocket. At one time I thought I needed all of the weird spyderco designs that were made. So I bought a dodo, captain, civilian, and poliwog. The poliwog is the only one I still own so I guess that does say something though.

I applaud them for thinking outside the box and trying models other than PM2s or para3s. I generally avoid these runs because I prefer stainless though.

If they wanted to go weird they could have done a GITD M4 Dody-fly! :)

Ugly, maybe, weird for sure, but put it in your hand and you won’t care.

That's my guess, along with KS with a P-wood version.

That is so cool. I gave one of the originals in stainless steel to a friend when they were in production.

I emailed them this and a Lava request a few months ago. Received response but just a “we’ll keep that in mind” type

The Poliwog is a cool design and looks like a very heavy-duty small folder. I don't know if I will get one though, the pocket footprint looks huge, and the ball-bearing locks on the Q-ball & D'Allara 3 were not my favorites in actual use.

I'm undecided on this one.
So it goes.

Ill be honest I would much rather have boring old vg10 and normal color g10. I would also like the price to be lower.

Regardless, Ive always wanted to try a poliwog so I might just have to go for it.

To see the true measure of the ugliness of the Poliwog you have to look at it when closed! :vomit

Still, not as ugly as the tumorous Jot Singh Khalsa! :scream

Yeah that seems steep for a sub 3in knife. That's about the same price they sold their M4 Manix XL for.
