Photic Sneeze

I have the photic sneeze gene, but it isnt looking towards the sun that triggers a sneeze in me. If I already feel a sneeze coming on, but for some reason the sneeze gets "stuck," or needs a little help, I'll look towards (but not directly at) the sun, and it can trigger the sneeze. At night, I get the same effect if I need to sneeze and look at a bright lamp. I discovered those things on my own when I was little.

I inherited the gene from my dad. I only found out later, when he told me he did the same thing I did to help him get a sneeze out.

For some people with the gene, simply looking at or towards the sun can trigger a sneeze.

Hi, Dan. I read that an estimated 18 to 35% of the population are photic sneezers. And that an estimated 93.4% of photic sneezers are Caucasian. Which is funny, because my heritage is 100% East Asian (AFAIK). Although my dad and his brothers were often mistaken for Native American Indians.

What a pissed-off Shaggy would've sounded like.

I used to listen to Casey Kasem's American Top 40 radio show on occasion back in the day. He always seemed like such a warm-hearted gentleman on the air. Well, this shatters that illusion. From the sound of this behind-the-scenes stuff, he seemed like a bit of an @$$, especially the part near the end. It's not as if his job was doing back-breaking labor in the heat and the cold, just to earn a living. He was a deejay who was worth 80 to 100 million dollars, for crying out loud. It is kinda funny, though, how he gets so mad over nothing at the end.
