Oh yeah. I saw that video a couple of years ago. Pretty amazing that they would take such risk just to get salt.
Yes, it is amazing. Actually, their nervous systems depend on the salt in order to function, so it’s a matter of survival for them. I’m assuming there’s no salt deposits lower on the dam due to water flow washing it all away.

Yeah, parts of it gave me that weird, top-of-the-rollercoaster feeling in my stomach.

Wow. I’ve heard that the salt water crocs are the biggest crocodiles in the world.

I've always loved Lions.....I would also love to see them in the Okavango Delta in Africa -.I love the fact that the male lion is an actual father to his cubs - he will let them eat and protect them and the Lioness's - Lions truly are amazing...
Here's a neat story of two brothers

Interesting that this thread pops up at this time. I just got through watching a most interesting documentary on Hippos. It's said that they kill more people in Africa than lions and crocodiles combined. But yet the hippos that were imported to Columbia, South America don't seem to be nearly as dangerous as their African counterparts.

We have had a huge increase of Mountain Lions returning to Missouri in the past few years. I would like to know more about those creatures.

Also snakes have always been an animal that I find interesting. I've been watching a youtube channel called Chandler's Wildlife who does a lot of interesting videos on a wide selection of different snakes. That guy is about as good as Steve Irwin once was.

I love ya Joe, but I think ole Chandeler is light years from Steve Irwin.
Actually, I don't know of anyone that's even remotely close to what Steve Irwin was...
That being said, did ya see where old Chandler got bit by that Spectacled Cobra?

Joe, I have also heard that about hippos. They're also quite fast when out of the water.

But I remember hearing something years ago about the deadliest animal on the African continent being the mosquito, due to the diseases they spread.

Speaking of turtles. I do not think I had ever seen a turtle in the wild, and here wife and I (when I was married) were driving across the USA going maybe 45MPH and came upon one crossing the road. Turtle is in the middle of the road!!! Stupid me, I get out and decide to help the turtle across the road.

:smiling-halo

So doing my good deed for the day, I try to pick this thing up, and it is mad that I am anywhere near him/her. This turtle must have weighed 30lbs! It was massive and looked like a snapping turtle. I was thinking, what did I just get myself into.

:cussing

Picked up the turtle and moved it across the road.... :hot-face thought that it was going to bite me! :grimace
