why does the EU get knives first?

hey all

just curious really...why is it that EU stores get the new knives first?

Good example is the s90/CF shaman....apparently they were already available in finland!

i am sure there is good reason, i was always just curious why this happens.

thanks!

Cause in return we have to pay about 1/4 more than US citizens... :D
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Agree. Much more expensive in EU, probably brands are more interesting in doing business in this site of the Atlantic?

I've seen that happen only with some models.

Because of shipping time. They ship them there early so they will have them before we do.

This is only true in the northern hemisphere. Down in Australia for example, it works the other way.

Usually when some websites are saying something is available "now" or "soon" you should expect some weeks or months of "nowness" and "soonity"...

I think I remember sal or someone from Spyderco saying they were going to try getting new product to the dealers in Europe first to try and help them with their sales. I guess a lot of European customers were buying directly from U.S. dealers instead.
Most recently acquired: Military 2, Paramilitary 2 Tanto x2, YoJUMBO, Swayback, Siren, DLC Yojimbo 2, Native Chief, Shaman S90V, Para 3 LW, Ikuchi, UKPK, Smock, SUBVERT, Amalgam, Para 3 CTS-XHP, Kapara, Paramilitary 2 M390
Grail Paramilitary 2 M390 X 2! ACHIEVED!!

Hi Alfredoperez,

Welcome to our forum.

shipping costs and time, plus taxes are a challenge. Early delivery helps support our distributors.

Thanks sal, you're right. It is worth it anyway, so we'll do that we need. :)
