Yojimbo 2 pivot changes?

#1

Post by bbturbodad »

I'm doing a blade swap, putting the DLC M4 blade into my CF 20CV and noticed a difference in the pivots between the two. Anybody know why the DLC M4 (right) has a groove down the center?

That's my thought too... I'll probably swap it over with the new blade.

Extra groovy? :D I didn't notice when I swapped my M4 and S90V, I'll have to take a closer look next rime I have them apart.

Some advice... Just change the scales. Don't switch blades or liners. The Blade and the lock are mated to eachother. Just pop the scales off and switch them, blade swap is more of a euphemism than something people actually do.

I have one knife with a groove in the Pivot as well: a Rex 45 Para 3. No idea why.

When I swap blades I always swap stop pin and pivot as well (for example from G10 to Ti Military); and lock for back-locks. Just a thought.

Should hold lubricant and reduce the contact area a bit which reduces friction with or without lube.

You guys are correct, the groove helps keep lubricant in the pivot.

Stay safe,
