Blurple Native going linerless! That'll be my goal for this year, barring any surprise releases.
Weird that it says it’s linerless, while showing an image of the liner version.
You made me go back and look again... You're right. Lock bar pin is a torx, not the stepped pin in the photo. But it looks like they did the same thing with the regular G10 as well... Still hoping it's not a misprint, as I like my S110V LW, and love my S30V G10. Would be best of both worlds :)

It's a nice selection, but nothing piques my interest that hasn't already.

Kristi, would it be possible to add https://spyderco.com/reveal to an RSS reader? That way I would be notified once a new knife is announced.

This is the first time I have been really disappointed with the catalog.

At least Spyderco won't have to raise the price of the new release knives in the catalog with the large annual increase before they are available to the public.

No changes to the Para 3 except making Maxamet a standard. :(

As an Adobe employee of over 27 years, it was very pleasant to notice that the catalog was prepared using Adobe InDesign, using the latest version no less.

Wow, you're an old timer. We've certainly chewed the same ground.

I'm curious about the Smock on page 72. I had heard it was going to be changed to have a differently designed clip that could be installed on either side. (instead of only 1 side)

But this new catalog still shows it with the old clip design. Is that just an oversight? Maybe there is still enough time before the catalogs are printed to change something like that, assuming it is still showing an old clip design in the photo?

I can think of one thing worse. No new knives in the Catalog.
All joking aside, I do have some questions about the new process.

How do I budget for new Spyderco knives? These knives are not cheap. It takes me awhile to save up for one. I can usually reserve money for my favorite Spyderco, but now I fear that I will spend that money on another knife since I will never know if a new Spyderco to my liking will be released. I occasionally buy knives from other manufacturers and without all of the information necessary to make an informed purchasing decision, the available knife will most likely win.

Is the plan to 'Reveal' several months in advance? Or will they all be surprise drops?

Thanks!

I guess it depends on the definition of 'imminent' week, month, quarter or year..

Just wanted to say that i just received my hardcopy today ( im in Ireland) im blown away by the quality and info contained, i know we have all seen the E Version but man this is awesome and must cost a fortune to produce!
most companies have ditched their hard copies now in favour of electronic for obvious reasons but yet again Spyderco prove how engaged they are - its the small details i think that really show - Bravo and Thankyou

Hi Bigboned,

Thanx much for the kind words. Joyce is the Queen of catalogs.

Don't care, or gripe, nearly as much about seeing/missing any particular anticipated release in the catalog as much as I love seeing that behemoth when it shows up in its envelope on some random Tuesday afternoon.

The last two pages of this thread suggest we may be a bit too used to our over expectations satisfied.

This hard copy is awesome and, like bigboned, I'm surprised I didn't have to pay for it.

Spyderco's still kickin a$$- even with the free stuff.
