Looking at purchasing a fluted Ti Native 5 on fleabay, but I'm hesitant due to potential fakes.

Any tips or details to look out for?

Thank you in advance!

Don't buy knives on ebay.

Does the price seem too good to be true? Are there clear pictures you can zoom in and see detail? Is the seller located in China? I have bought over 50 spyderco knives from ebay and never have I gotten a fake.

It's $170 out of New Jersey, nothing too spectacular. I've just never purchased any knives off of the fleabay, or anything that I can recall lol. Just happened across this knife and its so purdey!

I just dropped quite a bit more than that on a slysz bowie from ebay. Just look at the location of the seller, their feedback, and what else they may be selling at the time. It will give you an idea of if they are legit. My bowie is most certainly legit. It's **** amazing.

I paid $180 for mine on closeout from a dealer. Blade HQ was selling them for $170 before they sold out. So that price for a real one is certainly possible. Great price too!

Also, I've never heard of a counterfeit Native 5 fluted titanium. In fact, I don't think I've ever heard of any counterfeit Native 5's.

I’ve purchased and sold many spydies thru ebay. I just stay clear of models that I can find on aliexpress.

The only issue I’ve ever encountered with a Ti Native5 is “over-milling” in the center of the fluting. Got one from KC about 3 months ago that had this prominent line right down the center of the scale. KC was great and exchanged for another, no problem. It’s a beautiful knife and you won’t be disappointed.

Our daughter is Jewish. What are you trying to say? I do not like stereotyping and what amounts to slander. Please keep your ethnic opinions to yourself.

Frankly I wouldn't buy a knife from private seller, if there are known fakes of this model . Especially, if you do not know what is the difference between Spyderco and a fake. I am also saving pennies. But I hate the risk and aggravation.

I've seen fake fluted Ti Natives on ebay. Watch out.
(Flutes not as crisp, blade displayed the usual font errors)

I am jewish sir... I will say whatever I want about myself and my religion.
I was raised to save my money where I can. The jewish way, as my father called it.

So, it is infact not a stereotype.

Take the stick out Mike, life is too short.

Lots of great deals to be had on eBay, just do your due diligence.
I personally just got a kiwi 4 for a steal and really have no issues, I sell a bit there too as it just makes transactions easier with out folk demanding friends and family payments on forums etc etc

I've bought a bunch of knives on eBay (granted, a lot of them were before fakes became a problem), but if you do your due diligence, especially if the price seems too good to be true, you should be good. Make sure to pay with PayPal in case there are any problems, as they tend to side with the buyer if issues arise.

Why do you have to be THAT guy all the time? I'm sorry life has thrown some nasty curveballs your way, but it doesn't mean that you have to be so annoying. You are not superior to anyone here.
