Ehm... The cutting edge looks black as well. Optical illusion?

Would you take pics of the slim sides, too, please? To show the black liners.

Haha, thanks for reassuring me that I'm not totally nuts. :)

Looks wicked, congrats on this one. 52100 is still on my list. This one not though, although it seems to be a very cool piece.

Can you post your pics again? For some reason they're not showing up.

It's the best looking Spyderco knife ever made. And 52100 is a lot of fun too.

If I weren't averse to coated blades (ESEEs excepted), I'd be all over this one.

I love the Manix (have six), I love 52100 (in my PM2), I love gray G10, I love Knifeworks' exclusives generally (my S90V Manix2 XL, 204P PM2 and 204P Millie have not disappointed). But the coating, and a fair sample of the model are enough for me to wait on other Spydies.

If you've not experienced 52100 or the Manix and have no aversion to coatings, this exclusive might be for you. It sure looks good.

The DLC is what sold me since the 52100 will patina very easily. And it really is a good looking knife, more so than I thought it would be.

i’d really love one of these, but over 50 bucks for shipping the the knife to europe just isn’t possible for me to justify pulling the trigger :(

as for the dlc coating:

are there any dlc coated toolsteel knives out there already having a patina? i’m just wondering since the dlc just gives a minor protection for oxidation?

i’m very curious for the looks

I'm pretty sure the DLC protects the knife fully from the elements and rust. Basically it will not rust where the DLC is in tact. Please correct me folks if I'm wrong on this.

This thread convinced me to keep mine after finding it a little too heavy and after my deep cary clip made it too deep cary. The only disappointment is that its the only Spyderco that didn't come hair poppin sharp from factory, so i'll be touching up to get it up to snuff.

I find 52100 easier to sharpen than say S90V.

Going to grab one of these as my next purchase. I'm still mad that I didn't grab a 52100 Military when they were out, so I would LOVE to see a Military in this Gray/DLC 52100 combo. A Native in this combo would be amazing as well. I really hope they both of those.

The 52100 Millie can still be found at dealers if you look hard enough. I bought one for $209 at houseofblades just a couple of weeks ago. National knives has them still. But at $227. So far I am loving it. I am planning on getting that KW manix as well.
