I love mine. I wanted to try anodizing and after learning WAY more than I probably needed to know about anodizing, I ended up going with a nice shade of blue.

Yeah I know, my warranty is voided. Oh well, I am happy with the results.

It’s personal of course, but the 2 has lost the simple, aesthetic beauty of the original. Leave it alone. Too many stylistic flourishes on the "new" one for me.

As far as I know, yes. I’m not sure that the photos I saw are a Spyderco prototype, so a version 2, if it is made, might look entirely different. I just think the Spydiechef is one beautiful, form-follows-function knife with nothing added to “bling” it up.

I picked up the Shaman at my local store instead of the Spideychef... it would have been 260ish out the door, and after handling the shaman / hearing the reviews I jumped on it. But I still keep thinking if I should go back and swap it for the chef before it is too late. So idk, I have 2 weeks to make up my mind but maybe in two weeks it won't be there. However, they may only have the display model and to be honest it was super molested (everyone wants to touch nice things). I noticed it was out of stock too on multiple websites, and saw it going on ebay for 260 and above which gave me a tinge of anxiety.

This knife is awesome, yet another Taichung gem.

The Spydiechef has been my main carry for many months and I think it is my favorite user knife ever, regardless of price. I was lucky and got it brand new from a retailer for $168 a little over a year ago. It now is selling for $214. It is a great knife, but that price is a bit ridiculous.

I also have a Slysz Bowie,which is also a great knife, but considering selling it because I rarely carry it since I am always carrying my Spydiechef.
