What's your favorite Spydie today?

Post by Jazz »

I'd just like to know your favorite Spyderco knife/model, and why. You can change your answer as often as you like, hence the title. I know my favorites change over time.

Right now, mine is the Dragonfly. I can't get the thing out of my pocket. I tried sneaking a Delica in there and it was back, Jack. It's just so good looking, small, light, capable, and kind of has a "toy factor" I like. In particular, this one is my very favorite. I love the color... I have a brown paracord fob on it now. Looks way better. I need to take a new pic...

Right now i am digging my Manix 2 LW CTS XHP. Absolutely perfect. I have small hands and the manix 2s ive had before i had trouble unlocking the knife but not on this one. Its nice having a big lightweight knife in a good all around steel. I like the color too.

Para 3 hasn't left my pocket since I got it, and it's always backed up with a Manbug. A deep lynch clip is night and day on it. Perfect duo imo.

Delica 4 for the win. I'm really enjoying the FRN scales and I look forward to the Salt versions being released in the same shape

Native 5. It's my first Native and I love how solid it is in hand. The lack of a hump and a truly amazing back lock are something I can't get enough of right now...

The Cruwear Military has been my favorite for several months now thanks to the tip up conversion that Xplorer did for me.

Manix 2 S110V in G10. My big love for last 4 months and I can't see it change anytime soon.
There is no other Spydie I would like to buy instead. In sale right now, or in the plans for this year.

For me it's my GB1 in one pocket and Nishijin dragonfly in the other. The GB1 is one of my all time favorite knives. It has solid lock up and I love the M4. The dragonfly can actually handle most of the cutting tasks that I need during the day but the GB1 is just a solid EDC.
Do right always. It will give you satisfaction in life.

I would also say my Cruwear Military has risen to the top. I almost always carry two knives and lately I cannot think of any reason not to carry these two. They have completely dominated my rotation the past few months. Cruwear and Maxamet in large but lightweight platforms. However, if I do only grab one it is usually the Military.

I was at a Birthday party for a 4 year old yesterday and did a knife check amongst the guests. 1 kershaw leek, and 6 Spyderco Dragonflys :D I was carrying my 2 current favorite spyderco's the Yo2 and the ZDP DFly.

SpydieChef, for many days running.

The blade shape really intrigues me. I really like the length and curvature of the cutting edge. But its roots in food prep don't undermine its EDC possibilities, except perhaps for work requiring an initial poke.

I own way to many to pick one favorite, but if I really had to narrow it down to my absolute top picks it would be these guys. They see more pocket time than the other 90% of my collection.
