I've cut some fruit and an onion with mine but I don't have any patina like those shown here. Perhaps I cleaned mine of to quickly

Yeah, I had it in my hand and some fruit needed to be peeled and cut up. I was a little reluctant, but thought what the heck. I'm going to be using this thing. I didn't expect to get that much patina in such a short time. Didn't realize ripe peaches would have that much acid.

Last night I carried mine in kakhi shorts while playing kickball (yes, kickball) and got pretty sweaty. It was in my pocket for about 2-3 hours. I was a little worried I might see the beginnings of rust, particularly since I seem to have pretty corrosive sweat, but I checked it out when I got home and the blade was totally clean! This was with zero lube on the blade, as I washed it with soap and water shortly after unboxing.

Nice pic, BFK. I've never tried the Knob rye, how is it?

My GB2 reacted fast too. Sliced a peach, half an onion and a couple of jalapeños, and that's all it took. However, I like it...shows character :)

Embrace the patina :) It's character. IMHO I love the looks of a well used and cared for knife, gun, saddle, leather jacket, etc, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I totally agree....I just wouldn't consider cutting up a few apples deserving a "well used" look yet..But...I like the look of it too, it does add character.

Oh I'm a patina junky no doubt, love me some SB and 52100, I have a GB1 & 2, Mantra 2, MT and Military. My GB1 gets pocket time but has yet to show any patina, still haven't used my GB2 (prefer the original), bought the M4 Military second hand so it already had some patina, but hasn't changed at all since I started using it. I've only carried the Mantra 2 a few times so no patina there either. I really do like the look of a well used blade though and your right, it gives the piece character. :)
Happy to be part of this great forum and group of down to earth spyderco addicts, Thanks Sal and gang.

I just want to add that I was in no rush to clean the blade after cutting up the apples. Cleaned maybe 15 minutes after so the juice was sitting on the blade for a while. Still have to hold the knife just right in the light to see it.

Pretty good. I got it on a whim since they had it on sale for pretty cheap. It isn't super spicy and has good balance. I just had a few shots last night but I think it should be a great rye for cocktails. I am a big old fashioned fan and this should work well there.

Received 2 earlier this week. Both are immaculant. Perfect in every way. The picture doesn't do it any justice. But, it is quite beautiful.

Hello Everyone,
Kinda new to the forums (also tend to read more than post) but long time Spyderco fan nonetheless. I recently was lucky enough to add two of these PM2's to my collection; one into the rotation for carry and the other to be safely tucked away. I have a question to ask of the rest of you who got 'em - Did anyone else find that the lock-stop screw head on the OEM pocket clip side was all chewed up and looks like it may even be stripped out? Don't get me wrong I will buy new screws from spyderco and change them myself without a complaint, but I noticed on my carry knife (in photo with clip moved to right-hand-tip-up) and then decided to check the other brand new one still in its package and it is the same way. Both blades are perfectly centered and the one I carry opens like a dream But it begs the question; did I manage to get a rare pair of these awesome PM2's that happen to have the same flaw in their finish straight from the factory?

Please tell me what ya think from pics above, thanks.
Plus some Knifeporn below just to end on a positive note :D

Thanks! It's a great looking knife. I really like the shadow from the G10 texture on the lower right. It's a little more noticeable in a larger version - http://imageshack.com/a/img921/9830/l7eUph.jpg

One of the screws on mine is definitely chewed up. To the point where I would snag my finger on it. I had to sand down a few burs that kept bothering me. Someone was a little torque happy in Golden. A minor annoyance, but I've never had any issues like this with the Taichung Spidies...

I agree that Wiha is also my go to set. As to answers to my question of the chewed up screw heads - No response is a good response. I am hoping that no one else has seen this on their own BHQ PM2. I plan to fix em - or maybe not (considering they work perfectly) and at least they match :D

Thanks for the response Kaze and I'm sorry to hear it. One question, was it the same location screw in yours? I guess we'll see if any more people speak up - should be interesting at least. I will probably poach a screw from one of my s30v PM2s and sand these ones before they go into the blade I poach from... Haven't decided yet.

No problem. Yep, same exact spot! Mine doesn't appear to be stripped, so hopefully I won't have any issues removing it for replacement!
