I don’t blame them either, their safety is more important than the knife . I know it’s in safe hands it’s a weather problem not the carriers . Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I definitely like the ergos in hand , no hump and jimping. The finish is much better than my initial expectations . I like the grippy scales some may not . Sits in pocket similar to the Chief so a win win for me , just smaller . Comparing to the Pacific is very difficult since I have a big bias carrying the Salt for so long and just having the Siren a couple hours. Both feel good in hand but the Siren feels better and similar to example a Goddard large , simply designed and neutral but nicely balanced. I like both for different reasons so far . Siren is a beautiful knife but I suspect very capable, there is no mistake what the Pacific designed, for hard use in any condition. Sorry for rambling. (Let's not mention that, since then, I bought the Maxamet and SPY27 versions... But it was for the steels ! A whole new reason to buy )
So far I can't see any flaws anywhere. No blade play, perfect lock-up. Centered and shaving sharp blade. After unboxing, the action was like my Rex45 G-10 Native. Applied some lightweight oil and worked it in, fidgeted with it. The action moved towards Fluted Ti Native territory. Almost there, but not quite.
Slicing through an apple, compared to a large Sebenza is also almost there.
The weight is just 10 grams less than a G10 version, barely noticable.
I am too afraid to wear this with a pocket clip, so I took it off, no problems. Just nicer without the clip.

I found a Persian sprint run with the red scales the other day and purchased immediately. I've heard great thing about them and have never seen one for sale before. it should arrive in a couple days.
Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
I’m hoping to get some feedback on a recent purchase of a Birdseye Maple Chaparral.
I was able to find a clearance Chaparral online for $109. When the knife arrived in the mail, there was a big DISPLAY sticker on the box. The paperwork inside the box was also missing. The knife appears to be new except for a very slight gap between the the lock bar and show-side liner.
When I contacted the vendor, they explained that they sometimes ship display models when it’s the last item in inventory. They offered to pay return shipping and refund my money.
My question to the forum is, would you keep the knife for $109? I really like the birdseye Chap, but I’m worried the slight imperfection and knowledge that it was a display model will eat at me over time.

Re: Which spyderco is in the mail?
It is nice without the clip.
Managed to snag mine for a man who kept it as a safe queen (but with the wrong clip) for 200€.
Since it wasn't the right clip, i stuck my black cerakote LynchNW on it.
Now I just need to find the Fluted ti version.... Lamnia lists it so I went nuts but it appeared that they have had this sku listed for years without stock
Also : I managed to find a satin Yojimbo 2 for 130€ brand new, is it a good deal ? Knives&Tools lists it at 199€ and Lamnia at 180 (I guess 180 was before price increase and 199 is the price nowadays).
