Just dyed the scales on my Maxa-Manix. So I had to carry it today. It was a little nerve wracking doing the dye job since it's the riveted model. Had to do it with the blade in. I made sure to oil the blade and pivot before starting. Then placed the knife over a heater vent to dry it. It seems to have worked out. No rust. And I prefer the dark brown over the grey.

You can remove the blade from riveted models. Just undo the pivot screw and take it all out.

You can remove the blade from riveted models. Just undo the pivot screw and take it all out.

have you done this? it's a good way to break your frcp because of the pivot hardware extending into the handle.
