I haven’t been carrying this guy very much because there are some small chips in the edge. I got about halfway through repairing them a few weeks back and left it. Turns out it’s really, really sharp.

Surprise sharp is probably only second best to painstakingly sharp for me.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I've had that same problem with 2 of my Rex45 knives, microchipping on the factory edge. Thankfully that just forced me to put my own edge on them, and man they are screaming sharp. Probably one of the reasons it's still my favorite steel out there. I know there's "better" but this stuff is great.

Figure I'm in the room with them, why not a quick group photo.

I’ve noticed it gets some corrosion but not a whole lot. It always gets sticky sharp. I put it one in front of cruwear and in front of all the k390 and v’s because it’s not the hardest thing to sharpen. I leave it a little coarse.

Thanks Gernot, I picked that blue jay feather up on a job yesterday and immediately saw the colors of the Siren…
i was gonna make a joke about how you tortured some poor bird to steal its feather, but a blue jay would never allow that. those are some mean birds.
:rofl

great photo, salty. :cheap-sunglasses

thanks, salty. the caribbean is one of my favorites for detail shots. it's such an aesthetically interesting design that happens to also work quite well as a knife.
