Not in pocket, but iwb on a nice uphill-run.
Perfect for that! (Running and iwb carry ;) )

Fantastic shot and great blade! I just shipped the exact same one to a friend who is slowly getting into EDC gear and pocket knives. Start him off right!

Today I'm carrying my SE Wharncliffe Endura 4. I forgot to throw a deep carry clip on it though. Sadface.

This knife doesn’t see very much carry, but I thought I’d try for Micarta Monday.

The knife was relatively dull, and covered in tape residue when I pulled it out. Spent 10 minutes cleaning it up with thee Sharpmaker, rubbing alcohol, and a microfiber cloth over breakfast and it’s good as new. S30V sure is easy to touch up on the CBN rods.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

trusty caribbean to help with some last minute moving repairs. don't worry, i didn't use it as a screwdriver; just to open the new outlet cover. also, despite being iwb all morning, this "weak" detent hasn't once tried to kill me.

Easy enough fix LB…YouTube“Spyderco Caribbean detent” on Knife Video Channel…makes the knife waaaaaay better👊

i love the detent the way it is. that's why i put weak in quotes. the caribbean has a very nice, smooth action and i don't get why people complain about it.

Mine is a factory 2nds for like $100 a few years ago. Well worth that price for only a slightly warped blade...but, for the price of Maxamet these days, I'd opt for something from one of the other high wear resistant steels.

Gotcha…hope you didn’t think I was complaining cause I wasn’t…guess I didn’t get the “weak” part of the equation 🤣 I strengthened the detent on mine cause it slipped outa my hand while kayak fishing one day and landed right between my bare feet 😧 I didn’t get too aggressive when enlarging hole, just enough to allow the ball to disappear…it’s much improved for “my “ likes now…still smooth and fidgety as he…pops out with a resounding snap…I can intentionally drop it and it won’t come open which is what I was looking for…I’d say 90% of the time whatever large knife I carry is iwb so it was either fix detent AND mod scales for lateral grip or sell it👊✌🏻

your caribbean looks great. i'm glad you were able to dial it in to your liking. i planned to mod mine when i got it, but i couldn't bring myself to do it because i liked it so much. i'd still like to get a pe sheepsfoot to mod someday though.

Ok Thanks. The warpage was a consideration and the price. PM2 here in maxamet is a $360 dollar price tag.
Cheers

Not in pocket, but iwb on a nice uphill-run.
Perfect for that! (Running and iwb carry ;) )

I do have a boring life... ;)

...Another uphill run with the Salt 2 iwb and pretty much the same motive as yesterday (though not the exact same place, but just a bit higher up and about 1 mile to the north)

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Kinda wished I had gotten another one -sheepsfoot SE, especially after seeing all the positive comments on how good they cut,but the mods were a P.I.T.A. hopefully I’ll pick up one up eventually on secondary…
