Date Code on Box

#1

Post by BobmG8 »

I just picked up a new Paramilitary 2 and the Date Code is 1348. Does anyone know how to decipher this? Great knife by the way. So far my largest in my collection.

That is not the date code. Should be to capital letters on the right side next to the bar code.
We would rather be the knife in your pocket, because is "works" better, than the knife in your showcase, because it "looks" better.

I am guessing HK represents August 2011 for the date code. A very recent production date.

The date code goes like this: A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5 and so on. The first letter is the month and the second letter is the year.

AA would be January, 2001. AB = January, 2002. BA = February, 2001.

I wonder what they did for the year 2000 and before, like 1999.

I don't think so, but if you show us some pictures of your knife we can probably narrow it down for you.

I thought maybe the code would help find out the exact date. Judging by the knife, it was produced in the period 1995-1997. There is no word “Earth” in the indication of the place of production on the blade. In what year did the inscription "Earth" appear? 1997?

Someone else can chime in. The extent of my knowledge of the Renegade C23 is that this one was made in the years you suggested. It is marked GIN-1 on the blade and that with the box makes me think 1994-1995. However, I am not anything close to an authority.

Yes, such a knife could have been produced in 1994, but the following piece of paper was included in the box of mine

Below date - June 1995. Perhaps this is the date of birth of the knife. Perhaps such a piece of paper was printed in June 1995 and was included in all boxes until the end of production in 1997.

Yeah, so it could be late 1995 or so. I think that box says no later than 1997. The paper says 1995. The knife was made between late 1995 and 1997.

Someone with more expertise needs to chime in.
