WORLD Spyderco WEEK starting May 1st

#1

Post by Dr. Snubnose »

Yes I'm declaring May 1st-8th To be World Spyderco Week, I invite my friends from the States as well as those abroad, and those to the north, west, east and south to Spydercise for a week...Spydercise-"Exercise your rights to carry"
That's right carry a Spyderco or two for an entire week....Make sure it is legal in your jurisdiction...I'm one of the lucky ones as I can carry without blade lenght restriction, however for a one week period I plan to carry ONLY Spydercos knives to celebrate what a great knife and company Spyderco really is. Each day I will rotate the carry, Lets us know what you are carrying for World Spyderco Week.
My Spydercise for May 1st 2010
Ronin (2)
Vesuvius
Chinook II
Yojimbo
Caly Jr. ZDP
Native
Spyderhawk
Rock Salt
Waved Endura
Lady Bug
Co-Pilot SE

So that's my line up for May the First...what's yours...
I'l let you know what's in store for May 2nd...till then...Enjoy!!!...Doc :D
Maybe we can make this an annual event....

No dice here.

In Sequim May 1 -8 is the 125th Irrigation Festival starting with many events on May 1 including a bicycle poker run I'll be participating in and culminating in the massive Irrigation Festival Parade through downtown Sequim on May 8. I know you probably all think that the Lavender Festival in July is the only action in Sequim, but I'm here to tell you that the Irrigation Festival is awesome.

You used to have a wonderful National Motocross Race in Washougal, WA! Do you still have that event?

That means the whole of last month was Spyderco month. and for the foreseeable future. Around the house, at the farm, and anywhere else, I have Spyderco with me.

Well that won't be much of a chance for me either. :D
My LB3 never leaves my keys and to keep it company I'll either have the FFG Delica4 in blue (or maybe I'll snatch my girlfriends green one) or a Rock Lobster. Maybe I should throw my Bug on my keys as well, just for the heck of it. :p

Mate, I'de love to give it a go for the week. Gonna be a bit hard as I'll be in Brisbane for the last part of the week, & we all know how they feel about Spydies there if you read the thread on imports to Australia.
Lil ole black Ladybug, if they roll me over at least the blade is innocuous. :)

Can't imagine a need for such a thing as (as others have noted,) this makes every week Spydie week but if that isn't the case for someone, go for it.

Doc,
I am in (about four years already :) ).
I am wondering would it be possible to extend "Spyderco week" to "Only Spyderco week"? For how many people would it possible to cover all their need with Spyderco only. Would be no problem for me, but for others?
If yes, I would love to see your updated list :) .

I carry a Spyderco whenever I leave the house. This celebratory week further reinforces the need for me to add more knives to the rotation.

We live in heady times, my friends.

Couldn't do that. Can't (okay, won't ;-) ) eat 'em. Can't drive 'em.

All my cutting needs, sure, but not all my needs. Sorry ;-)

Hey Doc, I'll have to break out the "R" 2 spydie I received from a "Spy named Derco" :D . Take Good Care and Be Safe Always.

Does any of the older crew here remember this awesome little character???

God Bless :)

I carry a Spyderco every day, but to carry ONLY Spyderco would be the change for me (I usually have SAKs or slipjoints also). Maybe I will give it a shot... :D

Why May 1? May Day? Unions, Socialists, Anarchists celebrate May Day. International Day of Communism. Why did you pick May 1?

Because I just had the idea, this weekend coming up is May 1st and finally I made it for a week....Hey if you want to participate great..I'm not an official spokesperson for Spyderco Inc. Just thought this would be a fun way to honour the Knives and company we love so much...lets not get all bent out of shape over this...this is not a mandate, or an official calendar holiday or even law...If you have a festival to celebrate, terrific, if you want to celebrate Unions, Socialists and Communism, fine go ahead no one is stopping you...I just wanted to celebrate Spyderco knives for a week, and carry them without carrying any other knives made by anyone else....Kinda like a Spyderco appreciation week...you want to appreciate it all year long terrific...I am going to rotate my EDC carry everyday for a week, to give some of my older models a chance at pocket time, and to reflect why I bought them and appreciate them once again...That is all...want to join me in the idea great...if not have a great week, no big deal.....Doc :D
