Custom delica handle ideas ?

#1

Post by Stryke »

Hi there new to the forums but love spyderco

my EDC is a delica , I think its a great knife , I prefer the weight and build of the stainless handled version , but I also love the grip of the original .

has anyone done anything interesting with the stainless to improve the grip ?

anybody got any custom ideas of what i can do to make my perfect delica ?

I also lost my clip on the original another bonus on the stainless IMHO

anyway thanks in advance Im sure some of you will have some ideas .

Welcome to the forums Stryke. You might want to take a look at the website of one of the forumites here <A HREF='http://www.geocities.com/joyce43_c/RONS ... BEL1857</A> who has done several handle mods on stainless Spydercos, including stippling and adding thin, rough side out, carbon fiber sheeting. A less permanent solution to the grip issue that has been used by some with fair success is one or another form of tape, skateboard, stair tread, and bathtub anti-slip tape have all been mentioned. Some varieties prove too rough for some, so there may be some trial and error involved in finding the best one for your personal tastes. Thin overlays of stabilzed wood might also work without adding excessive weight or bulk.
