Kapara
Stretch XL
Native chief LW (or grooved g10)
Caribbean LW
Caribbean LW🤤
I’d buy one of those in a heartbeat. The standard one is by far (IMO) one of the best knives Spyderco makes, but also one of the most divisive in appearance.
Yeah it’s a great knife…I would love a lw back lock version with frn in orange 😉

I've been carrying my SNK 4V Goddard* for the better part of the last week or two since it arrived.. it's been hot and very humid so far this July and on more than one occasion, I've thought to myself - "I wish this was a Salt!" I think the Goddard would make a perfect Salt knife.

*no issues with corrosion, yet.. i've been careful to wipe it down/dry it out after sweaty hikes/walks, and of course, the coating helps..

gb2 is another i forgot to mention. i'd love to see a gb2 in magnacut, with ti liners and micarta scales.

In the past I would have gone with the Military, Manix XL, Police or Chief.

These days I'd be more interested in a Resilience.

LC200N FFG blade would be an upgrade across the board over 8Cr. Not just corrosion resistance, but edge holding and toughness too.

The design has really grown on me. It's tough going back to a Manix XL or Chief and having that big choil there I hardly use instead of more edge.

The S35VN LW version is not an option for you?

Should have the same level of corrosion resistance as 8CR or even a tad more and definitely better edge retention.

I still really like my "Lil Resilience", the Tenacious LW in that steel.
Endura-ish edge length in a very compact and at least in my piece perfectly executed package with a very good linerlock and strong detent.
It's an option, but let's break down the base version and s35vn version from my perspective:

- s35vn version costs twice as much
- s35vn version has worse corrosion resistance than coated 8Cr (which I value more than edge holding)
- I don't like the color of the scales on the s35vn version (I could dye them or swap black scales on to the knife, but I still prefer coated clip, hardware, etc. too)

+ holds an edge longer

So for me, there's more cons than pros to the s35vn resilience vs a $60 blacked out 8cr run.

Now a salt version would cost at least the same as the s35vn version, but it'd be a salt, which is worth the extra cost to me.

The 8Cr vereions hold an edge well enough for me. They need sharpening a bit more frequently than my S30V knives, but they still go weeks and weeks with the same edge.

Serrated Jumpmaster II in Magnacut!
I'll second the serrated Jumpmaster 2 as well as a serrated PM2 (or LW/FRN PM2 SE if that ever exists and doesn't suck).

I would love more Seki Salts with 1-piece FRN integral handles like the Atlantic and Pacific Salt 1. I haven't handled a Goddard but that looks like it would make for a great Salt in that category.

I love the current Salt construction as well, but I have such an affinity for those old FRN volcano-grip handles. They're just so solid and simple

i wish the seki salts had the normal backspacer construction. i'd like to put a signet ring on a salt 2, but it's not possible without serious modification.

A Province in Magnacut would be great; however a Stretch XL salt would be stupidly practical.

EDIT: Someone mentioned a salt Manix XL lightweight. I thought would be an awesome knife.

I know, right!

A serrated Jumpmaster 2 in Magnacut is what the world needs NOW! :party-face

I cannot believe that I came up with that on my own, but I swear I did! :nerd

Thanks, makes sense!

I totally forgot about the fact that the 8CR Resilience (and the smaller "family members") come in a coated version, not so the S35 VN variants (despite I actually have both a coated 8CR Tenacious and one in uncoated S35VN myself .. :grin-sweat )
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

A Leafjumper Salt would be nice. A Siren in MagnaCut of course, as well as a Goddard. And I’m eagerly waiting for a UKPK Salt in MagnaCut!!

I’d like an Enuff 2 Salt in Magna-Cut. I just got one, it’s such a thin and light knife A tough, hard, rustless steel like magna-cut would be about perfect.

I just wanted an orange N5 Salt, so I made one up recently. My compulsive tendencies drove me to fill in the color gap in this sequence…

Image

This covers the three blade types in LC200N plus the new MagnaCut version. A little sad Spyderco doesn’t release CC-numbered versions of models with new blade steels (a rather large change I think), I would have liked to have the complete set with them all (the red one is numbered on the back of the blade). For those not familiar with the red one, it’s an exclusive they ran with the Never Summer snowboard company in CO to support the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. It’s also the only DLC-coated N5 Salt to date, plus the only PS version. Cheers, Radioactive

P.S. Here’s a couple of other pics of the Never Summer N5s. I don’t think I’ve seen pics of their newer offering on this forum. Not a NFFF version, just a really cool Rocky Mountains scene. Plus I think the Never Summer logo is really cool-looking.

I am a big proponent of a G10 Native 5 salt as well as a G10 Chief salt. I'm sure I've asked for both before.

The SpydieChef has long been my premium salt knife, but I'd also like a premium salt backlock other than the Siren.
