Well boys, it's 2019 and we are finally getting some CTS-BD1N!

Para 3 lightweight!

I haven't been this excited in a long time.
Makes me wonder if the FRN Sage will be in BD1N as well.

Do we know yet what the RC hardness will be on the para3 LW?

Out of curiosity, what stones would you use for BD1N? It's a simple steel, relatively speaking, but would a high harness require your CBN stones?

Negative, it's Chromium Nitride rich. CBN isn't need to shape Nitrides. That's the beauty of BD1N and other Nitrogen steels. However I do feel I get a cleaner cut with bonded CBN/diamond which results on a slightly crisper edge in my experience but it doesn't replace practice with sharpening, only enhances.

Same here man, the only way they could have hit this out of the park more for me would have been a different color frn. But black has more mass appeal I guess. Excited to put BD1N to work :D

Is there anything BD1 does better than BD1N?

Seems unfortunate that Spyderco got Carpenter redo Gin 1, only for a few models to emerge with it

Also, the bd1,BD1N,bdz1 naming is nuts, considering they're not that similar (?)

I've noticed that am excited, but seems like plain bd1 has been relegated to polestar/raven and relatives

I’ve only used BD1 in the Squarehead, but I’ve enjoyed it quite a lot. Sticky sharp!
