Yep, this is where we come to "justify" our collections. Guys like the Deacon and Yablonowitz make our collection size seem more "normal" :D.

I remember the first time I saw a picture of a "Military wheel" (8 or 10 Military's arranged like the spokes of a wheel) I was amazed. Now that seems like "a good start" :).
The last time I counted, I had just under 250, and I'd guess it's over 275 now, plus over 100 other brands including a lone Sebenza. If I ever make it to the SFO seconds' sale, well, look out! :)
Which Knife, A or B? get Both! (and C, D and E) :)

I bought 17 at the seconds sale last year. That is the most knives I have ever bought in one day.... ;)

I have about 225 folders and 10 fixed blades left from a collection at least twice as big a year or so ago when I began selling some off. I believe I've hit a place where I've had nearly every disco'd model I'd like to see/handle in person and now I basically await new releases that interest me. It's been a bit of an expensive 2016 with many new models costing 3-4 times what a typical Spydie goes for, not that they're not worth it! :)

Sorry; :o but I have security concerns about telling people about the number of Spyderco knives I have in my home. So a new name for this thread.

:( You don’t have to be good person to read this forum

I’ve always been a bit reluctant to said how many Spyderco knives ( :D or knifes for the people of the off topic section) I have in my collection. But seeing that the subject has come up and so far no one has jumped in with the usual posts; proclaiming all collectors insane.

I here by confess that I am a Collector of Spyderco knives.
Looking at my list today and the number 652 appears at the bottom. That is the number of difference models and variations of those models.

A larger number appears under that to show total number of Spyderco knives in the collection. These others, are duplicates of the same knife counted in the first total. The extras were purchased for either trade with other collectors or because it was to good a deal to pass up.
Or because I really really liked that knife.

What is more interesting than what is in the collection: is the number of models that are missing from the collection.

These are just Spyderco folding pocket knives with C-SKU that are not there; 15, 19, 31, 32, 33, 68, 138, 162, 165, 172, 174, 177, 181, 182, 183, 184, 186, 187, 191, 192, 194, 196, 197, 198, 199, 200, 201, 202, 203.

I do not have any Mules.
I only have 5 Man bugs and 15 Lady Bugs. I don’t collect any of the smaller models. Though I think there is one Honeybee in there somewhere.

I only have the basic Police models and have made no attempt to collect the variations.
Same with the Para-military2, I have a couple of Para 1s. Again, only basics in the Military, plus a few sprints to total 16 Militarys.

And none of the restricted models.

It has been a 10 year work in progress. If I have the spare cash, I will add to the collection. If not, then it doesn’t happen; no big deal or stress involved.

Will the collection grow? Yes; finances and life span permitting.

PS. There is one Byrd in the collection, but it is not in the count.

Less and less all the time. Sold a couple thousand dollars worth in the past month or two. Trying to fund other brands I like more. I would say at this point 10ish Spydies maybe.

Judging from my outdated records, I think I have just under 100. Nowhere near the amount of the "mystery" poster so I better keep collecting.

I've had to sell a good portion of mine off, and now I'm just left with 3: An orange Spy-DK, a Lava, and a Santa Fe Stoneworks Delica. Now that I think about it, all of them were gifts from my wife.

I started using (not collecting) Spydercos in 2008
and besides SAKS, Multitools and 3 custom made fixed Blades there are
now rotating in my EDC are 10 Spydies:

Para2 s30V
Millie s30v
Delica Combo Edge VG10
Endura FFG VG10
Caly 3.5 Superblue
MT17 K390
MT18 s110v
Manix 2 154cm
Police SS SE GIN1
Southard Folder CTS204p

all users, some more some less.

2 sold:

my First Delica zdp 189 it was too small at the time
and the domino CTS XHP because of ergonomics

( i won't give away any knives except they don't fit my ergonomics)

2 Incoming:

millie s110v
Santoku K08BK

i'd like to own way more, but money and limited pockets are an issue

I've accumulated 75 in the last three and a half years plus a couple of bug sets I won. I still don't consider myself a collector -- I just like to try different materials, steels, and designs, and compare models from different countries and factories -- and I like to hang onto them once I get them :) I use all of these from time to time except about a dozen, which are still in new condition, including, sadly, 3 or 4 of my Mules.

I've slowed down a lot in the last year and feel that I have almost all I need. Luckily I like the basic designs, like the Manix2, Manix2 XL, Millie, Endura, Caly, Tenacious, Mules, etc, and don't have too much trouble resisting flashy and expensive new designs, though some of my favorites are unusual, the D'Allara, Nishijin R, Superleaf, BayouShooter Endura, anodized fluted Ti Millie, and maybe soon my new Ouroboros. Like a lot of other people, I'll probably reduce my hoard to 25 or 30 of my favorites some day, but it'll be difficult, because I really like to take out a neglected old favorite and carry it for a few days. And it's even more fun to break out a brand new one that's been put away for a long time and make it a user. Let's see now... when is that Micromelt Maxamet Manix coming out??
K-390 on hand: Mule Team 17, Police 4 G-10, Endela (burlap micarta), Endela backup, Endura (canvas micarta), Straight Stretch (now blade-swapped with G-10 Stretch), Delica Wharncliffe, Dragonfly Wharncliffe, & Dragonfly Wharncliffe shorty mod
Note to self: Less is more.

Eight. I just got back into Spyderco. It will be up to ten by the end of this year. Twelve max is my self-imposed limit.
