S30V will do just fine. I'm tired of all these $200-$300 knives, give us something cool at a price point for "users".

I'm fine with S30V too but I'm not sure this knife will be inexpensive. It has solid (not laminated) carbon fiber scales and bearings.

I hope this one will retail under $200 but I'm afraid it won't. Anyone knows when the pricing list will be updated?

Yeah I remembered the CF scales after I posted. That certainly reeks of fanciness. Probably won't be making it into my pocket. I wish Spyderco would do some collabs on the cheap like Boker and CRKT do.

Nice, and they often aren't the cheapest. I'm sure you'll be able to snag one for the ~$150 range eventually, which is pretty darn sweet.

Something about this knife just doesn't do it for me. The grind line is making my OCD twitch. I also miss the Ti of the Southard.

One thing that worries me is the size of the handle. I have large hands and I don't think I'll be able to get a full grip on it. The flipper might get in the way.

This is my only worry. This happens for me on all the hinderer designed ZT models.

:) I wonder if they will come out with a steel upgrade version later, something like what they did with the Chaparral. A S30V model, then later one with CTS-XHP, of course my Chap is S30V. ;)
I still love my Chap.

As I recall, the Chaparral was supposed to have XHP from the beginning. But a problem with obtaining the steel led to the initial batch being S30V to avoid a delay. I have an S30V Chap 1 too, and it's been great. For a knife like this, which seems more of a gentleman's folder, S30V should be just fine.

What I'm concerned about is the sharp looking point at the back end of the handle. It looks like it might create a sharp place to poke yourself when it's clipped to the pocket (like the Rubicon's sharp pointed backspacer).

Yeah the backspacer on the rubicon wasn't much fun. Ouch.

Same here... According to the specs this knife has a similar sized handle as the Native 5. I can only get a full grip on the Native if I use the choil. With this one it looks like it will be a 3.5 finger grip if I grip behind the flipper.

I'm eager to get one but wish it were just under rather than just over 3 inches.
