Pivot design on Yo2

So I was reading another thread and this made me wonder, does the Yo2 have the stepped pivot design similar to the PM2?
I only ask this because I put custom scales on mine and when the delicate wood scales cracked with temp. change I had to put my g10 scales back on (I know, voided warranty).
Ever since I have not been able to get that glass smooth operation without blade play that the knife had from the factory.
Is there something I need to do with the stop pin, etc. to fine tune this. I love the knife but since I jacked up the action it has lingered sadly in storage with the other forgotten blades.

Any help here?

I don't own one, but judging from the photos that show a Torx head on each side of the pivot, I'd be willing to bet it has a stepped pivot. I know there have been one or two models in the past with male/female pivots with Torx heads on both sides, but that style pivot almost always has one smooth head and one Torx head and I'm not aware of any with three piece, non-stepped, pivots.

The Para 2 and Yojimbo 2 pivots are pretty similar. I can't tell you if they are identical.

To the best of my knowledge, the normal operation and tweaking of these locks involves:

1. Don't torque down the stop pin, it has to move a little. I typically tighten them, then back them off a little bit. < I wasn't too comfortable with this and I've been using Locktite to stop myself from thinking the screws will fall out on their own.

2. Tweak the pivot to your liking. Locktite optional here, too.

I'm not Spyderco, but from what I've seen they're the same pivot design.

I have not taken all three apart, but I can contribute that the Yo2, Para 2, and Manix 2 have a similar action with regard to the feel when the pivot screw and stop pin screw are adjusted in harmony.

In harmony? How do you adjust the pivot of two knives at the same time?! :)
