Looks great, and I like it a lot more than S110V I'd love to see a Military or Manix in this steel!

Some days clothing drenched in sweat, my everyday EDC copped the lot. Dirt, dust and all of the crud that ended up in the pocket with it. Including loose change.

It started to show signs of rust and patina. So I thought that I would I help it along.
( :o With the patina that is; not the rust.)

Inspecting a Spyderco blade seems to dangerous work; I’m sure I saw one of those ants limping, when they moved away.
How did you get ZDP to patina like that? I know it's "stain resistant" and not totally stainless, but I've never heard of much more than slight discoloring and/or rust.

Unfortunately no Spyderco but at least a nice patina. I didn't do anything with it except cutting apples. By the way the steel is 1095. One of my favorites

Not a Spyderco, yet still one of my favorites. Northwoods Norfolk with Light Ebony and 1095. It didn't look like this before I cut up an apple!

Agreed, the steel is very organic (as I have said in the past) and does seem different every time I examine it.

Thanks. The 3.5 has been my almost daily carry for the last 2.5 years. There really is a lot to like about that knife.

So after 6 days I have only cut 2 apples and a small piece of lemon, it'll be interesting to see how the patina will develop over time.

This one is coming along nicely. Did you force it because the color appears to be blood derived?
