Show Your Patina!
How did you get ZDP to patina like that? I know it's "stain resistant" and not totally stainless, but I've never heard of much more than slight discoloring and/or rust.Reject wrote:It’s has been a long hot Australian summer and it has been hard me and the Dragonfly.
Some days clothing drenched in sweat, my everyday EDC copped the lot. Dirt, dust and all of the crud that ended up in the pocket with it. Including loose change.
It started to show signs of rust and patina. So I thought that I would I help it along.
( :o With the patina that is; not the rust.)
Inspecting a Spyderco blade seems to dangerous work; I’m sure I saw one of those ants limping, when they moved away.

Not a Spyderco, yet still one of my favorites. Northwoods Norfolk with Light Ebony and 1095. It didn't look like this before I cut up an apple!

Agreed, the steel is very organic (as I have said in the past) and does seem different every time I examine it.Holland wrote:Love the character on those two knives

So after 6 days I have only cut 2 apples and a small piece of lemon, it'll be interesting to see how the patina will develop over time.
