This seller needs to be stoped

A place to list and reference all Spyderco counterfeits, clones, and replicas that are found. Anything that isn't a legitimate Spyderco fits in this area.

any info on proving the spin is counterfit so we can list that when reporting him to ebay? i am not the best at finding some of the telltale signs if the thing is a halfway decent copy.

I just started a new thread in the hopes that Kristi will see this. If she reported to eBay then it will be removed but I don't think when we report things it does any good.

Ebay doesn't care about reports unless the actual individual whose copyright is being infringed upon contacts them...with a lawyer standing behind them.

Its sad, but its the truth. I've seen countless sellers with obvious counterfits, go on to continue selling them after its a known fact dozens of people complained.

Perhaps someone should buy one, then complain to paypal its a counterfeit. If a buyer complains they take it a little more serious than just an ebay member reporting an item. Plus, you could give them negative feedback and let the unenlightened know from your comment :D

The problem is this trader is knowingly exploiting loopholes I know proving this is difficult .
I had a case with ebay uk having brought a counterfeit designer jumper it was fake.
I contacted ebay offering to send an original and the fake but was told unless I could provide evidence that the manufacture agrees it to be fake it's not prepared to act.
You could ask Sal but im sure in good faith if he chased up leads like this he would be turning in ever increasing circles .. good luck though.

It may take someone that is in the know buying one and then lodging a complaint with PayPal that the goods are fake.

I've seen the fake Spins on eBay before, but they are usually being sold for a too-good-to-be-true price. This guy is not just selling counterfeits, but he's intentionally pawning them off as the real thing at prices close enough to retail to make someone think they're just getting a great deal.

If they are reported enough it will catch Ebays attention.

I sent the seller a message. The reply was "I'll look into it" I replied with the Fake Spin Pic thread from the Spyderco forum. I see now in the listing "Spyderco Spin Etch Reproduction Knife!"

That is a listing violation, authenticity disclaimer. The more reports they get for that the better, "maybe" Ebay does something.

As far as I know looking at a similar situation ie not a knife , if the item doesn't have trademark names etc describing it as a replica is legal at least in the eu , I haven't seen the item so this is just a passing comment, not that it makes it any more acceptable but may account for lack of action.
