It's still May. Per Sal it should happen sometime this month. Probably give/take a few weeks because knives are slower to make than photocopies.

Agreed, the Yojimbo 2 was a long awaited knife and it sold faster than anyone thought, which is good.
It makes it tough if you didn't get one though. I feel for anyone that wanted one and didn't get it. I
was lucky enough to get one and carry it daily as a SD knife. I feel better just knowing that it is there.

Now nearing the end of May and still only the whistling of the wind... any hard info on a (new) release date?

I just walked through the assembly area of the factory and was pleased to see a number of busy hands assembling Yojimbo2s. I know that our management folks do their best to allocate stock as equitably as possible, but back orders on this knife are significant. I have no way of knowing when knives will be shipping to individual dealers, but the good news is that some will be shipping soon.

Stay safe,

Mike

Excellent news!

Thank you for the update Mr. Janich.

I sure hope KC will be getting a little more than a handful

That's definitely good news! I placed my Yo 2 order exactly 6 months ago today.

I see that a number of people have purchased Yojimbo 2s at Blade Show, I guess that means they are going to release them soon? I've been on pre-order list for 6 mos...guess I should have gone to Blade Show.

Me too. I placed my order Nov. 25th 2011. I can't imagine they'd sell them at Blade without also shipping to dealers to fill 6 month+ old backorders.

They must be starting to roll out. Just notified by KC that mine is on its way and CC has been charged. Original order date with them was 1/30/2012.

Got a newsletter from Howes saying they got 25 of them, but it sounds like they are all pre orders.
