Somehow Benchco....or Spydermade...or Spyderbench, ...or Madeco....just doesn't have the ring to it!.....Doc :D

On a more serious note, it would actually be cool to see a collaboration. Each company could sell the collab model with their own branding & color scheme, maybe one could be G-10, and the other aluminum. Maybe any royalties generated could be donated to something like the Japan releief effort or something, just to keep money from being a show stopper.

I know, not likely, but it would be great for those that like both brand's offerings, and even the fanboy's in both camps would need to call a truce on that one. :)

Speak for yourself. Benchmade has earned themselves a permanent place on my NO BUY list.

I happen to prefer Benchmade folders and Spyderco fixed blades. A collaboration between them would be pretty sweet, I think. Spyderco ergos with the heavy-duty construction and AXIS lock of Benchmade? Sounds like a winner to me. :)

After being continually unimpressed by Benchmade folders I'm not interested either.

Care to clarify? If there's something more to it than personal preference that is.

Just a guess but probably has to do with the spydie hole issue.

Well, after giving up on BM for a year, I got me one of these:

I figure the kidnapped Spydie hole needed rescuing. ;)

I did some searching on this matter and thats messed up. I own a 555hg and now i like it even less. Glad I traded away my mini dejavoo too. I guess I was always under the impression that bm got permission from spyderco to use the hole...
