The only thing I don't like on any clip is when they are black painted. The paint scratches very quickly and look like crap in a matter of 2 weeks. But the fix for me was to sand and polish the clip. Done.

I guarantee you there isn't one thing about knives that either everyone likes or everyone dislikes. Everything is a compromise to someone. This is why there are so many knives in the catalog.

I think it might be safe to say that there is one thing about knives that everyone here likes...a sharp edge.

:D

This thread is beyond help.

Oh SNAP...you got me!

I did not think of that one...

Technically, is a trainer a "knife" though?

Just because someone dislikes FRN, that does not make them a "troll".

No offense, but I always figured you had to be a bit of a redneck if you could discuss knives for hours on end.

When will this thread be moved to off topic where it SOOOO belongs?

I didn't say it does ;) I did however get the impression that his post about hating FRN was merely a trolly way to get his thread going. But I might be wrong about that, hence the question mark :)

I'm not trying to judge anyone's preferences.

I like them both. When Im in office or walking about in public, I prefer low ride for less visibility, but when working on the house or fishing, I like high ride for easier access and deployment.

In general, there are some knives that Id like some feature from a different knife, but Spyderco does a great job of trying new things and updating models. The variety is nice to have. I am getting to the point where I know some knives are never going to be EDC'd or used and I will get rid of those, but its not because I hate anything - just not useful to me or another knife fills the need better.

Hey, I'm not really a fan of FRN either...and yet I am loving my Stretch ZDP. Why? Because the overall knife far surpasses that minor dislike. And I think the same goes for a lot of people, a production knife isn't going to be 100% perfect, but when the F&F and the design of the knife are looked at as a whole, then handle material or clip type don't matter quite as much. Of course in certain situations and for certain people they will..but I think that most people have to compromise a little bit when buying production and not custom.

The only clip placement that I never really liked was on the older style paramilitary. That has been resolved with the new one.
