I know some folks don't count the Solo series from the early 90s - since they are sort of a "sub-brand" of Spyderco. But they don't have holes either.
In addition, to my knowledge, the kitchen knife line doesn't have holes. I've got the little paring knife and the santoku. Great kitchen slicers...

I see, thanks. :Daraneae wrote:Most of the fixed blades were originally made without a hole. It was adopted later to make the brand more uniformly trademarked.

Aside from the SPOT, none of the older fixed blades had a hole, that gimmick only started a few years ago. IIRC, the Street Beat was the first model to have one.
In folders, the C27 Horn is the only Spyderco branded knife without a Spyderhole opener, although it did use another implementation of Spyderco's patent, a trapezoidal depression on each side of the blade to allow one hand opening using your thumb. The Laguiole was sold as the RAMCO Laguiole. It does not carry Spyderco's name, or :spyder: logo anywhere on it or its sheath. I classify it with the SOLO knives, as a sub-brand created by Spyderco to avoid diluting their "look". I will note that Sal, and some collectors, consider it a Spyderco despite that.
