manix lw magnacut internal differences?

#1

Post by argyle1812 »

I recently received my magnacut lw manix. so far ive been very pleased with it. One odd thing ive noticed though is the action is noticeably less "snappy" than my 4v manix lw. I was wondering maybe the magnacut one has some pivot differences that would make it a bit less fidget friendly?

Have a Manix LW MagnaCut and I find it just as snappy as my son’s Manix LW SPY27. You might just need to losen the pivot slightly.

The Manix LW has surprisingly become one of my favorite platforms.

I believe the Magnacut Manix LW uses a ceramic ball for added corrosion resistance, as opposed to the stainless steel ball of the regular Manix LW.

That said, my Magnacut Manix LW drops shut when I release the lock, while my 4V Manix LW needs a firm shake to get the blade to drop. I don't fidget with my folders though so I can't comment on the snappiness of either variant.
