A Man Called Otto

Has anyone seen this Tom Hanks movie? It is actually pretty good and a bit funny at times. Warning, many attempts at suicide, but they all are thwarted, much to Otto's frustration! It is part of a running gag. He feels he has nothing to live for since his wife died. People with needs keep interfering with his plans to join her. Finally, he realizes that she would want him to stay and help people. He has a big heart under his gruff exterior.

Stop being a tease. For a moment I was all excited thinking
Tom Hanks might have landed a role playing Nicolaus Otto.

Although it won't rival the Swedish original, it's a good movie on its own. I read that Rolf Lassgård (The original main character in "A man called Ove" liked it too.

My mom read the book. She got my dad and I to go see it with her. Enjoyed it. Especially the part where he teaches his neighbor how to drive manual.
