I prefer the standard FFG VG-10 with a colorful FRN grip, currently have a green one. It’s plain, yet it functions as my gent’s knife. With clip removed it disappears in my dress pants, but ready for action if some matter needs separating.

The Delica is my favorite model and I have a lot of Delicas and Salts, but my favorite and most carried is probably the K390 Wharnie.

Delica wish list that could dethrone the K390 Wharnie...

Grey FRN Satin Cruwear Wharnie
Grey G10 Satin Cruwear Wharnie
Green Micarta Satin Cruwear Wharnie

Cancelled since people felt $200 was too expensive for G10 and ZDP-189.

$200 in November 2016 dollars. Today, that’d be $275.
Well they wanted it to be around $100 because "It's only a Delica". So maybe that was 1960 dollars.

I don't care much for the standard blade shape, for whatever reason the tip of the knife seems to be at a really awkward spot relative to my grip on the knife. The wharncliffe blade though solves a lot of that in my uses, shame so many variants got disco'd. I don't own one yet but I think the hap40 wharncliffe sprint is peak Delica for me.

Spyderco folders made in Japan with liners and G-10 are too pricey which is why so few are made today.

— Stretch2 XL with Satin Cru-Wear & G-10: $304.88
— Civilian with Satin VG-10 & G-10: $261.38
— Roc with Satin VG-10 & G-10: $216.75

That was the other half of the chatter. All Endura and Delica models "should be" G-10.

I've always had a weak spot for Wharncliffe blades and my k390 PM2 quickly became my go to edc. When I saw the k390 Wharncliffe D4 it was a no brainer, so much so that when I saw it on the Discontinued List, I bought a second one to squirrel away just in case. That led to ordering the matching Dragonfly and Endela. I haven't ordered the matching Endura yet, but I'm sure I will soon.

Not many would buy a Delica4 with VG-10 & G-10 (with liners) for $225.

The price was going to stay at $100 with the free upgrades. For some reason it never happened.

Kahr Delica with khaki FRN. The lines just flow and the back story is so interesting to me. So problem solving.
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

Hi Tzirconia,

Welcome to our forum and thanx for the thread.

Sorry it took so long for me to get here. I guess we made a lot of Delica variations, add that to aftermarket options and the combinations are quite a few.

This is the one knife I still rave about to anyone till this day.

Delica Pakkawood from Knifecenter.

Probably the biggest WOW out of the box of any knife I have bought. Love it and the build is better than many more expensive knives.

A "Delica variant" I keep dreaming of is a longer blade (so filling the handle right to its end) with a kick as minimal as possible in the exact same handle.

So basically a "maximum edge length Delica".

I have L to XL hands, but differently to some others with that hand size find the Delica ergos great and the handle offering enough space for a good four finger grip (keep in mind: I almost never use the thumb ramp but more of a hammer grip or put the thumb on the flat of the blade. This positions the hand more forward on the handle and thus effectively offers more grip area and puts the middle finger more INTO the first finger groove rather than on the "point" behind it).

That great handle with its slim carry but with a blade that offers more cutting edge would be amazing (the Salt 2 actually goes in that direction by having an a bit longer blade than the Delica 4).
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Thanks for the kind welcome! :smlling-eyes

So many great examples of the Delica in this thread and thanks to those who were able to include pictures. Would love to try out a Cruwear variant someday...

Hands down is the k390 wharncliffe. Just a nasty useful utility blade. Perfectly canted and angled to pierce to initiate cuts. Lost mine, getting another.
