Great photo!

But...what is all that white stuff? (asks southern Calif resident).

It's raining like crazy today... so perfect tool-steel weather, isn't it? ;)

Image
that gives me a little bit of anxiety. :rofl

:')

... but honestly, as you might know from quite some of my posts: I just don´t have any corrosion issues with REX 45 - despite I carry and use it a lot in rain, snow and iwb on sweaty hikes.

As usual I did not even whipe the blade off when I came home yesterday after the knife was wet half of the day - just put it away as it is. No issues. Sure - there are some tiny spots and a slight patina - but as you can see on the pic of my Manix, those are so minor that they normally don´t even show up on photos, it really takes special lighting and angles to make that slight discolorations visible on a pic (and they are of no practical impact whatsoever anyway).

I guess it will always remain a mystery to me why I am lucky and can´t rust folders though I don´t baby them at all or don´t even take the basic care measurements... :thinking

VERY early headlamp morning run in the woods with the Chap... nothing carries better iwb, and still it is just a supersolid hard use (for a folder) cutting beast in case I need it.

A groundhog sold me a snow cone machine and it was a scam. Turned it on and Boom. Blew up on me.

Small side gig before the Daytona 500, had it on the books before all these storms blew through and if we don’t do it today it’ll be another three weeks…the lil’ Native makes for a perfect wharnie and I can’t wait for the lw backlock, especially if it’s made into a salt which seems like a safe bet 😉

Love the Advocate! Still need to get my hands on one.

Very underrated knife. I went to the factory outlet some years back. I planned on putting my mitts on every knife they had. But when it came to the CQI Advocate, I had a hard time putting it down.

How do you like it ? Does it have the rattle some have talked about ? I briefly had one ( a few days ) and helped a friend when they were very scarce. Dan

No surprise here. My favorite model in my favorite steel, 14° primary bevel and 17° microbevel makes for one mean workhorse

No, this one is quiet. The only noise it makes is the lock bar clicking into place upon opening and the blade tang tapping the stop bar when I close it. No noises when I tap on the scales with the blade open, closed, or in between. Did you mean the lanyard tube?

I like the way it carries, it's pretty thin and light. I've found that if I want to draw it and open it in a hurry it works better if I flick it open with my middle finger. Then when I roll it in my hand for a saber grip my index finger indexes right into the choil on the scales. I tried deploying a coworker's Yojimbo to see how that worked for me and I found that my index finger would end up just ahead of the G-10 on the blade. :astonished So I bought the Canis instead.
