Gun show tomorrow in Hickory, NC. There’s a vendor that’s always there that has plenty of Helle and Protech knives, I’ve been tempted plenty of times on several different Protech models! The last one was a Strider collaboration in MagnaCut, very nice knife!
Dang, that gun show in Hickory, NC is tempting!!
Have a great time benben!
Come on, I’ll pay your way in! It’s supposed to rain, name the time! ;)

Hehehe! Thank you, buddy! I truly wish I could.
But, we can catch the next one down the line.
You know I've only ever been to 1 gun show I think.
I'd love to go to another.

Well like Jeff said the Protech Malibu has an excellent blade to handle ratio but it’s too thick behind the edge for sure…makes for some super fun flicking tho 😉

All else is extremely well thought out. Even small details. I am going to take it down more. Maybe today. I have an old Saber Ground Endura I keep in the truck and a ZT 0640 that I reprofiled and both do just fine. They are not my go to for box cutting, but they cut just fine. Fun to enjoy. The blade shape and ergos make for great detail work and it completely disappears in the pocket!

Ok first, that is a sweet hoodie Rick! I am jealous. And second, no calipers here either. I did take a pic comparing the tip to an Endura if it helps.

Image

It's thick. Don't buy this expecting it to slice better than a Spyderco. Just a small tank in a very well thought out EDC package. They just forgot you may want to slice something. I used it this morning on a little set building project. Worked great with the precise tip. In and out of the pocket with ease (They did a phenomenal job on the entire clip setup). Fortunately, I had saws to cut through the lumber. ;)

Laying it down to sharpen always helps. I am a terrible sharpener, so don't judge but every thick knife I have does so much better with a thinner edge. Unless you are cutting cardboard or food you may never notice. This one had teeny tiny bevels and was not really that sharp, so I went straight to sharpening this one. And I typically do not do that before using it.

Helle Kletten is living in my pocket. 2” blade, laminated steel, beautiful birch, lovely ergos. This is a must have.
