If one thing is and as always been clear : it's not a 500$+ knife. 450$ is fair since you somewhat get a wilder Sebenza, but without improvements, it's hard to justify more for it.
I can 100% assure you this is an incorrect assumption/statement. Have you ever handled a Sebenza and SB together at the same time?? You wouldn't say that if you had. A wilder Sebenza hahaha!
I have a Large Sebenza 31 in my collection for some months, but thanks for assuming I was speaking from the void. I won't take back what I said, the SB is a wilder Sebenza.

I know some people like to rave about Seb tight tolerance, but Taichung is close enough that no one would notice. Diminishing returns.

The only thing I'd give to the Seb over the SB is the bushing pivot and that you have the same amount of knife in a slimmer profile. Now that the Seb has adopted the ceramic ball, you can even argue that tolerance isn't what it was (since it introduces lock rock).

Lets not forget the CRK warranty. Big difference.

Yes, I did forget the warranty. Even if it isn't really a factor for non-US people since the shipping + risk of eating custom fees on the way back, makes it less cool.

Hopefully this isn't old information - I was looking through KJ's exclusive page and noticed the blue/M390 Slysz Bowie is now marked as "Coming Soon", priced at $449.95. No specific date.

Did a search but didn't see any new posts about it.

Assuming it is really coming, good luck and fast internet connections to those interested.

Assuming they bump MAP to 75% before release (it appears they haven't yet though), that's $337.46 street. $314.97 if it stays at 70%

Yeah no — the MAP price is 449.95, making the MSRP $600 or north of that (whichever MAP % you want to use).

Pretty sure when this dropped and I got mine a couple years ago it was $400. So definitely more now (and not worth it imo)

I don't mind paying for quality, but it does seem over priced at $450ish compared to the Spydiechef $290ish with the same blue anodizing. Supply and demand I guess. Probably not for me.

That makes more sense. I was wondering why it seemed so reasonable :p

In its current configuration, that KJ exclusive is an easy pass for me at that price. Now, give us the original plain titanium scales and mirror stonewash Magnacut and they have my attention.

Still an easy pass since Knifejoy doesn't ship to the Philippines.

I'm hoping that either DLT or CutleryShoppe commissions an exclusive of this model. Make it a 1,200 piece run at a fair price and I'm sure it will still sell out.

The demand for the original Bowie is such that I've seen many folks remove the blue anodizing on their KJ Bowies to make it look more like the original. I wonder what's keeping Spyderco from re-releasing the original Bowie.

I still don't see what the thrill is with the SB. I wasn't interested back when the original one was disco'd and reasonably priced. Definitely not interested in one at $450

Dang I've always wanted one but that's a crazy price. Also that blue anodization that discolours from finger prints on this and the blue Spydiechef has always looked cheap to me, if it was plain Ti I wouldn't be able to resist

For all intents the original was a sales dud. It never got popular till is was discontinued, sold out, and then everyone discovered it.

I never liked it myself and it never came onto my radar. But I do have a Swayback and a Spidiechef so I like the way Slysz works. But since it looks like Knifejoy only ships to the US I will have to continue to wonder if I'd like it.

Pretty sure previously in this thread, you said it wasn't worth $400, but you still bought one.
Good thing it's not a pansy color, or we would never hear the end of it. :yawn
