Ohhhh nice. This gives me ideas for photos. Love the sun shine through the translucent scales.
Very nice pic indeed!

... and yes, light shining through the translucent Manix scales is a kind of cool and unique look... here is an old pic of my translucent Manix (not as good as Nicks picture and I don't have that knife anymore).

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Another quick ski tour with the Salt 2...
....
You really like this guy. How does it work for you ? Do you keep it sharp enough ?
Yes, I do like the Salt 2 SE a lot!

To me it is the clearly better alternative to a BM Bugout in the superlight arena (as far as I can tell not owning the latter) - they have the same weight (1.9 oz), but imo the Salt 2 has some distinct advantages (see this thread viewtopic.php?t=88925#p1496689)

I have to admit though that I actually haven´t been using and sharpening my Salt 2 THAT much (while carrying it a ton) - I practically always only carry it in outdoor scenarios (pretty frequent in my case though) and as a running knife, and that rather when I DON`T expect a lot of use (if I do that, I rather go with the Pac Salt or and Endura).
A day with lot of use for the little guy (Salt 2) might look like that:
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=89256&p=1614903#p1614903

I am really fascinated by the "concept" of this knife -. one can bring a very capable cutting tool in such an extremely light package

And IF I "have to" use it: This does work great too - I am one of those who really likes the Delica ergos, despite I have larger hands (but the thumb not on the ramp), and the Salt 2 is even better cause its handle is thicker than the Delicas.
It also offers a bit more cutting edge.
For things like cutting branches, "rougher" woodwork, feathersticks ,"outdoorsy" food prep the serrations are great too, and outperform PE in my use.

"Do I keep it sharp enough?" - not entirely sure what you mean exactly ;) I keep it sharp enough for what I need... but did not have to sharpen it a lot yet, perhaps three or four times some passes on the brown SM rods and it was good to go again (LC is really nice to sharpen imo).

Now knowing you: What you would NOT like: There is slight up and down blade play on mine - does not bother me at all, but it does not the level of lock up the comp.lock you prefer normally does.

The serrations though you might like - compared to let´s say an Endela they are more "aggressive" /"spikey", and while I prefer the "mellower" kind, I know that you are quite the opposite.

A funny thing with the Salt 2 for me that I´ve mentioned before:
While I absolutely love it as a tool and would replace it immediately with a new one should I loose it, it does not "connect" that much with the "knife guy" in me "emotionally" like many other Spydies.
It is perfect as just that, a great and optimized for its intendet use tool.
