Guess I'm a pretty basic biatch compared to most. Phone, wallet, SAK, folder.

Something like this, plus phone and a leather card slip wallet and minus the grey RFID "watch":

Most days, i.e. regular workdays, it's:
- folding knife
- flashlight
- multi tool
- prybar
- earplugs
- watch
- cellphone

and not always, but quite regularly a pen or pencil

8< ----

Your photo pushed me over the edge with that wharnie Dfly2. It's going to be my next purchase. Do you carry a Vic Cadet as your multitool ?
So glad to be of help :smiling-cheeks

Yes, the Cadet is my most carried pocket MT. It's a bit limited in its capacity, but with just a slight modification I've found it to solve like 75+% of the ad hoc tool needs that I didn't anticipate - and for the size and ease of carry, nothing else comes close to that bulk to usefulness ratio.

Image
Working with electronics I was more than willing to sacrifice the can opener to get a 3mm flathead with better reach. With this flathead, the large one and some creative use of the file, I can open most covers, cabinets etc. and get a lot of quick connects/disconnects done without going back to my nearest tool stash to get proper tools.

Image
I wish more SAK's came with the file instead of the small blade. These newer cross hatch style files are quite good for their size and for low torque applications it works quite nicely as a make shift 2D Philips.

At home: small folder, phone.
Out: large folder, phone, wallet, lip balm, sunglasses.

Though not "everyday" carry:
Fishing: Salt fixie, large Salt folder, fishing pliers, phone, wallet, lip balm, sunglasses.
Cycling: Large Salt folder, phone, wallet, lip balm, sunglasses. Water, food and repair kit on bike.

I try to keep it small, light, comfortable, and quiet. Keys and knife, wallet, handkerchief, and phone. My phone has a flashlight if it gets dark and Google Maps if I need directions.

I have carried pepper spray at times and totally endorse the concept but currently don't have a design that works well for me.
Suggestions?

I’ve been carrying one of these for the last six months. The spray pattern is pretty good inside of 10 ft and I hardly notice it in my LFP where it sits loose with my flashlight.

I've been eyeing those. How secure do you feel the safety top is?
Don't want an accidental discharge!

I feel pretty confident about it, but I don’t rule out the possibility. The action of firing it needs to be pretty deliberate. I think the chance of the flip top breaking and it subsequently firing from an impact is negligible, but there is a chance something could wedge underneath the flip top inside my pocket, and then pressure exerted on the flip top could cause it to discharge.

Image

Although highly undesirable, the consequences for me wouldn’t likely be exceedingly dire. I think the material of my pants would contain it. As I mentioned I’ve been carrying it for 6 months every day with my light and work badge, and often my house and car keys too. No accidents or close calls yet. If I clipped it to my pocket rather than carrying it loose, I think the already slim chance of an accident would be largely mitigated. I think it’s worth picking one up and evaluating for yourself though.

Excellent reply! Thank you!
I'm convinced; going to order a couple for evaluation.

Keys, wallet, & knife. Only have my phone if I’m on call for the hospital. Otherwise it stays on the safe. Looking forward to a phone free weekend!

Oh man… I carry a back back with me. Only thing in my pockets are phone and knife, maybe Excedrine.

Pack I have wallet, pliers, multi tool, pump, bottle of body armor, handkerchief, woven frisbee, flashlight, batteries, wet disposables, gloves, earbuds. I think that’s it ?
