Thanks for the runner-up nominee last week, really enjoying that knife and the time out in the wild. Life will settle down to reality here for the next few months with school getting started again, teaching, and all the fun of working at a University. Driving back across America we stopped at Mt Rushmore... the Manix was in the pocket for the day so it got the modeling duty's for posing in front of our great American Icons... I think George, Tom, Theo and Abe would all agree that Spydies are the way to go!

thank, dan. it's a really nice design. i like to carry it when i'm wearing pants with smaller pockets because it's so much more narrow to carry than the manix. actually, it's even about half as tall as a delica when closed, but has a substantial amount of cutting edge over the delica and it rides deep in the pocket. i think it's probably the best gentleman's knife spyderco currently makes, especially if you are wearing lighter weight dress pants.

thanks! the ikuchi is still available. i definitely recommend it to non-lefties that want a nice knife. the cutout for the comp lock is pretty small and the knife doesn't give a space to hold it while disengaging, so it might give some trouble to lefties. some also complain about the opening wheel hurting their fingers. it's not the most comfortable thing, but it's really nothing to complain about. it is less comfortable to flip like a normal flipper (index finger) than it is to flick like a lighter (thumb) though.

i'm not really a gentleman, but i like unique and new design elements. the ikuchi works well as an excellent departure from the spyderco norm without having to buy the chinese flavor of the week.

Thanks guys ! I have read that operation of comp lock is a challenge for a lefty . Really too bad I’m not gentleman either ! 🤓 Dan

Great choices for last week's pics of the week!

For this week, I'll lead out with the "wallet" of knives that was with me for the last few weeks. Had fun with them in the wild, out and about doing fun things... this week it's back to reality here in the real world...Image
