Image Old comparison shot I did on a Siren thread , to give you an idea of size of Goddard and Bloke pencil . 🤓 MG2

Look very similar, but there are two important differences:

1.) As Vivi pointed out already: For really large hands the Goddard offers more actual grip area than the Siren, due to shape of the handle end where the fingers sit (for my L to XL hands the Siren though is just fine already)

2.) The Goddard looks to be better suited for choking up right ON that guard, cause it is flatter / more horizintal there than the Siren.
Actually, this area could be better for me personally than most choils for choking up: In real use (and not when just holding the knife) I prefer when the index finger sits "high" and is not recessed to deep in relation to the other fingers.
In other words: I like a lot of handle height / "meat" under the index finger in compared to the other fingers: Gives me better leverage and control, why I never felt that I ever needed the "safety" a deep choil offers for some
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

IIRC they ship globally - they certainly ship to Singapore 💳🔥🤦🏼‍♂️
I checked after my post and yes they do. 36 USD to get it to France. It should make it a 200 USD knife once import fees are covered. Still totally worth it in my eyes. :cheap-sunglasses
Would be pretty much the same price here in Austria.

Again, if they´d offer an SE version I´d be in and we could even order together... but as much as the design and the imo very nice, efficient and neutral looking (actually pretty "modern" looking in the sense that Spyderco seems to come back a bit to more neutral shapes) handle appeals to me - I find it hard these days to lay my money down for "toothless" Spydies.

This one isn't for me because of the color combo, but I can say that the Goddard is a great knife (I have the OD green VG-10). Slim, light, great blade geometry, and good size/ergos. Anyone who is cool with the red and black or a fan of 4V should definitely give this knife a shot.

Interesting that they did not go with a stainless steel given that it's designed to be a fishing knife. Doesn't really matter, but customers get hung up on that sort of thing.

More of a chance for me to get one ! I like them toothless :cheap-sunglasses 🤣

It will be my first exclusive not bought on the secondary market. I hope its not as stressful as lets say the MagnaCut Mule drop.

St Nick's knives only uses CPM 4V for their exclusives. I do not know if it is to separate themselves from other dealers or if the boss is in love with that steel 😅.

I just got a N5 in this steel but don't think it would handle water well at all, especially salt water. Already had micro surface rust on the edge even if the blade was oiled and kept in box with silica for a good while

The Siren was designed as a fishing knife. I could be wrong, but the Goddard was designed as a lightweight EDC & possibly a hunting knife.

Red and black with 4v is a signature combination. I suppose if they were to make a Siren exclusive, it might also be in 4v.

I bought mine as a fishing knife, but have no idea why I thought that's what it was meant to be. Picked up the Siren later.

A little bird told me this was in the works awhile back. I actually thought about it the other day. I haven't been on the Spydie forum for a few days. Glad to see it's finally here. I like the retro models and I want to keep the SNK collection going. So I'm definitely in. I might even buy two. One will be carried and probably more than some of the other SNK models I have

Looks a bit like as if the Goddard had an effectively more negative blade angle (than the Siren) when holding the knife - ? I´d like that.
As well as the boye dent..

...I don’t think this one is for me, ...

Curious why not? I'm indecisive on this one, and could be pushed either direction by some wise council...
Size.. mostly.
And the fact there seems to be other models in the pipeline that aligns better with my preferences.

I overwhelmingly tend to carry sub 3” knives, so even though I have a weak spot for the classic FRN handles and barrel clips, I don’t want to tie up too much of my knife funds in knives that won’t be carried.

Sorry for the slow response. Summer suddenly happened. Busy times ;)

I like the look of it a lot. It’s like a Spyderco and Buck got merged together. Don’t really need one though. If they did a green handle in magnacut or Lc200n maybe…

Is it though? I can't seem to find any information about that.

Yesterday I googled and read as many descriptions as I could find, and couldn't find anything about the knife related to fishing. Perhaps I thought that because I thought Goddard was a big name in fishing, but maybe that thought also had no basis in reality. :)

Given this is a Seki model, the black blade is likely TiCN-coated not DLC-coated.

I like how relatively narrow it is, a great steel and a great price! Even at a run of 1100 units these are sure to go fast! Hope I can snag one.

I wonder what my options would be for dying this thing? Probably just black.

I suppose I should just go pickup one of the green ones from eBay.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.
