I can’t wait for this mule. I got my days mixed up and stayed up late last Tuesday, so at least I’ve had a good practice at sitting waiting for the drop 🤦🏼‍♂️😂

Hey JovialAI,

As an aside,

The larger Mule Team that I was considering making for you to test, I cancelled. I think that If I were to design a larger knife for what you are doing, I would do it differently than a Mule Team. Sorry about that. I meant to tell you sooner, but kept forgetting.

I'll have to think about it for a while. I think Ed Schempp's design that we made a while back would do well for that need.

Hi Sal,

No worries 👍🏻 As excited as I was I can completely see why there’s no point going ahead with it if you don’t think it’s a viable proposition for the intended function. I’ve actually been reflecting on the proposed Mule XL design myself and wondering if the blade would have sufficient heft to be used as an impromptu mini-machete on occasion as well as for carving and whatnot.

Since the Mule XL thread I’ve commissioned a few custom knives to test out different blade shapes and thicknesses for my purposes. I’ve come to the realisation that there’s a lot more to this designing a knife lark than is immediately obvious! What particularly surprised me was how much the weight bias away from the forefinger balance point changes the feel of the tool in use. A heavy blade makes for a lightsaber when chopping but a real pig for detail work (I’m sure this is not news to you!).

Anyway, thank you for the update. The fact that you actually consider these things at all is a large part of what endears me to the Spyderco brand.

Now I’m wondering if I can find a Zoomer in stock anywhere in Singapore 🤔

Have a great day 👍🏻
Alex

I guess I was able to get my order through. Site was slow, typed in my card and submitted order but once I submitted the site bogged down more and timed out. I got an order confirmation a few minutes later though.

Success here, order took 9 minutes to process from start to finish. I've had worse in the past.

Done :open-grin

Was going for one but the several tries instead of waiting a couple of minutes (FOMO) must've added 15 MT39 to my cart.

My credit card is happy this was rectified to 2 mules ! Might make a great custom order for a customer, or another french steel maniak happy.
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Robin. Finally made an IG : ramo_knives

Use a laptop/desktop based browser, and hit refresh several times if encountering a blank/error page. Should get through sooner or later. 6'23.57" total
