Kapara for the week and I haven’t dropped it or cut myself once! Seems fine if you stay in its wheelhouse. I’m glad I have one.

Rub it in, why don't you. I am Kaparaless, and it hurts, a little.

Stretch 1 again, old love of mine.
Great to re-experience this most amazing knife!!

Hope I'll get to use it a lot in the next days (today it just got to cut up some bread and cheese in my lunch break on a nice volcanoe peak - in the background (across the ocean on another Island) the peak of El Teide can be seen: Highest mountain of the canary Islands (3700 meters / 12 000 feet) and third highest volcanoe in the world if measured from the ocean floor (7500 meters/ 25 000 feet))

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I sharpened a LOT of chains on one of those at a previous job. But never tried sharpening a Spyderco!
Because desolate places allow us to breathe. And most people don't even know they're out of breath.

Full.

Shaving, paper-curling factory edge to start. Still a decent working edge at the end, but not what I'd call sharp. I'll leave it unsharpened and see what it's still good for.

Edited to say, man, I really like the flat Halperin scales!

Just picked up my first wharncliff at Northern Knives here in Anchorage; I needed a friendly looking work knife and this S30V Delica looked perfect.

Nice! Forget the "controversy" around this blade. Just use it! Awesome!

Edit: Referencing Coastal's picture of the new Mule. Thought I had timed that better.

I'm with you on that. The flats rule!

Did something differenr this year:

Normally right now is my main ski touring and back country skiing season, and I'd be out in the snow and high mountains all the time.

Changed it up quite a bit for 2023, and am wearing shorts and (often) no shirt on the canary islsnd La Palma (east of the nortwest coast of Africa).

Nice and warm, great nature and volcanoes up to 8000 feet to climb and hike.. :smlling-eyes

Spontanuously decided to bring a Stretch 1, for a long time my most favorite folder, for that trip, just to re-experience it (ok, ok, also have a Pac Salt SE with me... can't live without a spyderedge these days ;) )

Image
You're a lucky guy Gernot! For me, La Palma is the most beautiful of the Canary Islands...I've been there a couple of times, the last time during the eruption of the volcano.
In La Palma I have seen the most amazing night skies of my entire life…
