Blade HQ dropped a video of Spydercos newest reveal with Eric Glesser. Pretty cool seeing them in hand. Really liking the K390 More than Enuff.

i saw the handle in a pic somewhere online, but we've seen this one already. i was hoping it would be in the reveal.

Eric mentioned he’s testing a new blade coating on a pm2. I wonder what they’re looking to improve with the DLC.

The Enuff 2 launching in K390 is really exciting for me. I'm not even sure you can get the regular VG-10 model yet. What's more, the MSRP is currently listed at $240 on each, which probably means a street price of $170, which really isn't too bad. My only two concerns are:
- The handle may not be big enough for me. The Mule Team handle is tight, and I think the Enuff 2 has a slightly less-open design.
- They may drop a Clip Point soon, and I think I might like that better.

I also enjoyed Eric's commentary about the Temperance 3, the engineering behind making a light weight sidespring knife, and the difficulties of working with 15V + other hard, high-vanadium steels.

My other favorite new knife is hands-down the Military 2. I am very excited about that one.
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

I like Spyderco knives and all but can we get some those Spyderco branded neoprene mats from that video? I would be in for a few, at least! :bug-white

That was great! Really looking forward to the Enuff 2. Seeing it like this confirms I need it. Very useful shape and size. Scales look comfortable as well.

And, if I wasn't maxed out on the PM2s...

Three Enuff2 models have been announced but none delivered yet.

  • Enuff2 K390 PlainEdge Blue FRN FB31PBL2K390 (Japan) - Reveal 12 (JAN 2023)
  • Enuff2 VG-10 PlainEdge Black FRN FB31PBK2 (Japan) - Reveal 10 (JUN 2022)
  • Enuff2 VG-10 SpyderEdge Black FRN FB31SBK2 (Japan) - Reveal 10 (JUN 2022)

Strangely, the K390 has the same MSRP as the two VG-10 models which can’t be. The MSRP of the K390 should be about $50+ more than the VG-10.

Military2 Compression Lock CPM-S30V Black G-10 for a street price of $196.00 is a big winner considering the original Military Liner Lock CPM-S30V Black G-10 now has a street price of $238.00.

I don’t quite get the Military 2. How does it differ from the PM2? Just a half inch more blade?

The cockpit certainly draws inspiration from the PM2. The blade is about half an inch longer, and the handle offers two full grip positions, both choked up on the choil and back on the main palm swell.

I would consider it more of an update to the Military, but you could certainly be forgiven for thinking it was a large PM2 much like the Para 3 is a small one. Funny how nobody quibbled about that one. ;)

Did anyone else notice when Eric said the Seki-City knives wouldn’t be subject to a pricing increase this year?

That’s good news to me.

I thought he was just talking about the LT3 but I just rewatched it and you're right. I hear about people buying tools from Amazon.jp because the exchange rate favors the USD.

The Enuff 2 and the Military 2 are pretty exciting. I want to get these in hand and see how I like them, but I'm sure they will be great. Spyderco is doing some good stuff.

The Counter Puppy and Counter Critter are good ideas. I just wish they were made in Japan. I might give one a try, nevertheless.

I ordered a Counter puppy very unintentionally, because it was on sale at Lamnia. Hadn't really looked into it before, it just went into my cart because of the ridiculous price. Despite the name, I had imagined it to be quite a bit larger than what showed up in the mail. Ha ha ha.

I got a serrated one, and it cuts like a demon, but at that size I think I would have prefered a PE blade. Still works great, and while it wasn't what I expected, it did fill a hole in my kitchen cutlery lineup and gets a lot of use. Happy accident, I guess.

The Critter is not a must, but it's on my radar being that it seems closer to what I expected the puppy to look like.
