Geez, I think I want a Vallotton. Classy yet stabby through a car doory.
definitely one of those knives i scrolled by a thousand times and then absolutely needed once i noticed it. i've only carried it once because i have a plan for it that requires it to be in perfect condition. once i accomplish that plan, i may put it in the rotation.
Auto Conversion? I know that’s something on my long list of wants! :bug-white
i thought about it, but when i was doing research most recently, i saw quite a few poor reviews of the conversion work. it's a shame because it would be really cool. i'm not going to pay for the knife again to get a conversion that might be shoddy though.

if anyone here has different information, i'm definitely open to anecdotal evidence that it's as amazing as i would hope it is.

An Italian Stallion by Sal & Butch Vallotton.....already wearing a Tuxedo 😎
i'm very impressed with my vallotton, but it's a heavy knife. between that and the ikuchi, i'd rather have the ikuchi when dressed up and i'd rather have the vallotton if i was actually james bond and might have to do crazy stuff in a tux.
Ya know, I've really been interested in the Ikuchi for a while now. I'm gonna have to pull the trigger I believe
hope this helps...

Still no mention of the bolstered, Damascus caly 3 cf?
It is not in current production, of course, but it is definitely on the top of the "classy" scale.

weight doesn't bother me either for the most part. it usually makes me laugh when people complain about an ounce or two of weight. i often carry a cold steel 4max scout (10 oz) and am just fine with it. even 6 oz is a lot of weight for suit pants or running shorts though.

All depends on your wardrobe.

Wearing jeans with a gun belt while doing light to moderate activity? C95 Manix feels no different than a Pacific Salt.

Running up a mountain in 105F with nothing but running shorts, socks and shoes on? To **** with anything over 3oz.

Currently available, I’d echo most of what has already been recommended -
• Swayback
• One of the Chaparral models
• Damasteel Urban Sprint Run
• SpyOpera (either the regular production model or Damasteel sprint when it becomes available)
• Ikuchi
• Kapara

Of course there are even more options if you’re willing to look for some discontinued models, like -
• Lil Nilakka
• Memory
• Kiwi series
• Etc… So Many more models could be listed!

• Des Horn

Came in here to post the Des horn. Classy gentleman’s knife with Art Deco flair. Right at home with a whiskey lowball and cigar on the card table.
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

this made me think... a blacked out pacific salt se would absolutely make a great knife for a tux since it's so light and thin. not exactly classy, but utilitarian chic.

a murdered out SE pac salt would be one of the things in my suit.

I don’t own a single suit, but I do own a few pac salts…

But really, thinking about it… probably a Bradley Bowie. Shoulder holster, cross draw, under the jacket.

To contribute to the thread: Birdseye maple chap gets my vote.

Nah, your right. That Vallotton is a little heavy in suit pants. Lol, that Cold Steel or a Medford Fat Daddy would about drag em down!

What an unlikely great pair, nice pics!

I had a Vollotton... Awesome knife, but carried in the pocket like a C cell Maglite. I sold my Ikuchi hoping it would get CQI and maybe a sprint. It's a unique little knife. These pics have me wishing I still had them.

What is the classiest Spyderco knife currently available, in your opinion? My first thought was a Chaparral, maybe the titanium one.

Any of the currently available (as in still in regular production and not discontinued) Chaparral folders will do nicely.

Also, check out the Prestige line in the Spyderco Catalog starting on page 101:
https://catalog.spyderco.com/2022produc ... 9fa8b6fe2d

  1. Chaparral CTS-XHP CF/G-10 Laminate
  2. Chaparral CTS-XHP Raffir Noble Composite Scales
  3. Chaparral CTS-XHP Gray FRN
  4. Chaparral Sun & Moon CTS-XHP White G-10 (Red G-10 Inlay) & Black G-10 (Mother-of-Pearl Inlay)
  5. Chaparral CTS-XHP Birdseye Maple

My vote is the SpydieChef. Imo, it’s quite classy, while not sacrificing any utility to get there. If it was mentioned before, I missed it.
