Rubicon XL

Post by Fireman »

Who would buy a Rubicon XL?
For me, it is common in the knife world that I see an amazing design but it is just too small for my hands or my needs and I go “BUMMER!” The Rubicon is such a knife for me. Is this a design that could benefit from being a larger size? Would there be enough demand?

Hey, Fireman. Have you looked at the Amalgam? Different design, but may scratch the itch.

It's a visually stunning knife isn't it? It goes against two of my preferences (linerlock, low saber grind) but in a larger size it would be an attractive beast, indeed. It would also look good in a saber blade design, like a heavy duty folding Bowie.

I have the Amalgam and really like it and see where Jeff is coming from , but the Rubicon blade is a whole different level . I would be all in if it wasn’t a linerlock. Dan

They’re phenomenal designs but neither Rubicon sold very well when they were available. Make it bigger and it would become more expensive and less appealing to the majority of buyers.

I'd dig it. I really dig my Magnitude, I think a Rubicon XL would be cool to have alongside it.

Don't know, if this changes anything for you, but the Rubicons are hollow ground.

It’s definitely a piece of eye candy, but I don’t tend to enjoy profound bellies like that.
