i got the email and it was gone too. did anyone here get one, or was it a mistake by bhq?

eta: if this wasn't a mistake and is a sign of what to expect even from the larger dealers, this drop is going to be sad for a lot of people.
Every site I’ve checked says sold out.
GP knives and CS have not dropped it yet
Good call. I noticed GP after I posted.

BHQ in stock notification moments ago yielded 0 knives in stock per usual
I never got a notification
I never get a notification from BHQ until after everything is gone. Their notification system stinks.

I stopped by Grommet's today (one of the stores that's already sold out) and just before I left, I asked: "So, I understand that you're completely sold out of the Manix 15V?" (out of curiosity, I'm not buying this knife). To which the proprietor replied: "Yes, we sold both of them yesterday." So there's a number.

Didn't want to muck up the alert thread, but just wanted to say thanks to @Buddafucco for posting so many deal links. Was able to snag one from SMKW thanks to him! Now I can relax (assuming it didn't oversell :grin-sweat)

I don't think they oversold, because I was on literally 5 minutes after his post and hit the "Add to Cart" button and it just gave me an error saying they were out of stock. Now it's just a "Notify" button.

I don't understand how he was even aware it was on SMKW. I have been keeping track of various vendor's pages for this model, and SMKW didn't even have a page for it saying it was out of stock when I last checked a few hours ago.

I've got a script running that checks pretty much every vendor's product page and I feel like I'm still gonna miss out on this one.

In the mean time, Google is over here trying to help scammers take my money, as this is the only result that shows up under their "Shopping" tab and it's obviously phony: https://www.sportknifeshop.com/promotio ... aign=yl-19

@BuddaFucco u S.O.B. Thank u. Got me a KNIFEWORKS 15v. It's been a minute since I've been on the hunt for something I really wanted. Almost forgot the rush. Like my Pappy always used to say, "the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat". Good luck to the rest of the Bros & any Bro-ettes

Each dealer only gets a few pieces to start and then the larger shipments come later. Everyone still has a fighting chance of getting one at this point.

there are browser extensions and scripts you can use to copy and paste all your info in one click to streamline the ordering process.

Good luck to everyone trying to get one. Excited to see everyones feedback on these in the sharpening journal!

The premier shipments are early and small, later shipments to bigger dealers will be bigger.

This is day 2 or so of a possibly 2-3 month process. There will be a lot more chances for us all.

well, that's what i was thinking too, but smkw isn't a small dealer. there was also some talk early on saying that this sprint was going to be very limited and that people that don't really need/want it should leave it for people that will actually put it to use. that just makes me wonder how many were actually made. maybe we're only going to see these small numbers and that will be it. this isn't following the same pattern that the ayoob sprint did so far.

I’m surprised if anyone around here above the age of 12 would have the nerve to say this. :grin-squint

More will come. I don’t think any sprint has ever been that limited.

I think my SMKW order went through! Stoked to play with this one. Might have to finish those Cocobolo Manix2 scales I started years ago.

I guess we'll see, but I suspect SMKW will get at least one more larger shipment. They are a BIG shop.

I'd be surprised if it was smaller than a 1200 piece run.

My recollection is different. I think the Ayoob sprint had a similar start.

Time will tell.

Try bookmarking (with the forum tools, not your browswer) the thread in addition to subscribing to it. I wasn't getting them either until I bookmarked.

I am guessing the run will be around 1500. That is generally what the REC runs were doing but only seeing half of them due to production issues on quality. Sal has said 15v is a bit easier to work with than Maxamet plus not DLC so I am guessing they did not have as many quality issues.

I think the biggest problem with this knife is the FOMO and people buying it just to sell.

Presumably a ”decent” number might need to be produced for the sake of financial viability at this kind of price point?

It would be interesting to know what sort of number that is - and vaguely how the stock gets distributed around the world. AUS seems to not be getting any, hence my looking overseas…
