are you guys able to pull out your ark without pushing the sheaths tab? I could on mine si I never tried neck carry.

I can if I really yank on it but I wear mine around the house all the time, I don't see it coming out accidentally.

That said I'm still interested in a snap-in kydex taco sheath.

Any concern of loss? Handle down, correct? I know the sheath has that push tab. I just want to make sure the knife doesn't somehow slip past it. Also, how long did it take for you to become accustomed to neck carry?

I've had no issues. Mine has been very secure in the sheath. Yes, handle down.

If I remember correctly, Vivi reported being able to easily pull it from the sheath without disengaging the lock tab, but that hasn't been my experience. ***Oops, Vivi already commented***

It may have taken a couple weeks for me to really get accustomed to neck carry, but I've never been one to wear something around my neck. Thankfully, the ARK weighs next to nothing and is barely noticeable. Also, I've only used paracord as the lanyard, never the chain. Those chains pull my hair too much.
I too do not generally like something around my neck, but I may have to give it a whirl if it only takes a week or two and there is no issue with potential loss.

Vivi, I cannot get my knife out of the sheath without pushing the tab.

interesting. mine had close to the same amount of resistance when unsheathing it when I pressed the tab compared to when I didn't.

I wonder if a heat gun and some judicious use on the tab might alleviate your issue, Vivi.

I'm sure the more you force it out the more you wear the edge of the lock tab and the more it gets rounded off the less effective it is.

It was like that the day I bought it. Before any mods or wear.

No longer own it so can't try my heat gun.

Which UltiClip do you use? Neck carry has to be outside of the shirt here in CA, so I usually only use mine at home.

I use the "Slim 3.3", and it's a perfect fit.
Thanks!

Any chance you could post a pic of the sheath with the clip on? I'd really like to carry mine more than I do.

Thank you very much, in advance. I will be at work, but I will check it out when I get home. It seems like a good solution for those of us who can't carry concealed fixed blades.

Happy to do it. Its a good excuse to try it out again 🙂.
It's definitely not concealed like this, so you should be good there.

I was reminded while installing the clip that the grommets are too small to accept the female side of the barrel screws, so you have to install them backwards. Still works completely fine, but the face side of the screws will be on the backside of the sheath. As I've done with other sheaths, you could also drill new, appropriately sized holes in the sheath if needed. And of course, this clip is adjustable to allow it to ride at various heights in the pocket.

Sorry for the blurry in-pocket pics. Shows how it carries with vertical and horizontal pockets.

That's great, thanks! I'm going to try one, or perhaps the Discreet Carry Clips model. I will probably have to mount it so the knife and sheath are outside of the pocket, but it should allow me to carry it legally. I appreciate it!

I have been trying out the neck knife method for carrying this knife. I really do not like anything hanging around my neck, but this is very unobtrusive and so far, it is not really bugging me at all. That's with paracord, not the chain. Hopefully my luck will hold out.

Yeah, this knife helped me get over my dislike of neck carry. Now, it’s probably my preference for most occasions. One less item in my pocket fighting for space.
