Wow, I completely missed this post, almost exactly what I said! This would be awesome, maybe even a cobalt colored micarta would be cool. DLC might even entice some as well.

Sal, I feel y’all could even do a pre order for this and maybe make a few extra for the newcomers.

If I had my druthers I'd want an Urban LW, but Maniago has somehow managed to ruin a fine knife. The K390 was and is fantastic. It is perfect in every way.

So, yes, a UKPK in SPY27 would be nice. Golden made, Golden quality.

I changed my mind. Cobalt blue G10 and leaf shape… instead of drop point. More utilitarian after all. I really hope that Sal will be on top of this project and decides to grind them slightly thinner bte.

I agree a UKPK wld be nice but I'd rather see it in MagnaCut to give it a more salty quality. But honestly I'd be happy with any UKPK (tho I prefer the drop point)

I really hope that if Spyderco pulls this one off, that they will NOT go for a leaf shape. Not only that there is plenty of them, not because the leaf shape is better suited to cut carboard, rope, or stabbing stuff, but because the leaf shape is not great for cutting cheese on board or slice pizza - because the tip is too low and one keeps stabbing the cutting board or pizza box. I have been using my drop point UKPK several times a day since I got it - I am yet to encounter a situation where I would have thought .. "man, I whish it was a leaf shape".

I like the leaf design of the UKPK for SE, but much prefer drop point for PE. For my uses anyway.

Hmmm Matus you have a point. I would guess it would be the same issue with a Wharnie then wouldn't it? I'm partial to the drop point as well but wouldn't be able to resist a Wharnie version.

I don't normally participate in these kinds of threads, but it seems to actually being gainjng a slight bit of steam and Sal has chimed in as well, soooo...I'm cool with either blade shape UKPK, as long as it's made like the HH exclusive but with that Cobalt Blue G10, SPY27 also sounds good.

Not tryna re invent the wheel. Both the UKPK and the Lil Native sound good in Spy27. But what about a Spy27 Wharncliffe UKPK?

If we spent as much time trying as we do doubting, we might have already accomplished it.

I think either would be nice, but my preference would go to the UKPK. Is wharncliffe an option?
How about wharnecliffe on the lil native slipit. Aren’t they already tooled up to do lil native wharnecliffe’s?
Lil Native is an admirable knife. I just prefer the slenderness of the UKPK.

Hey Jim,

I agree. Like Ladybug, I always seem to lean towards a UKPK. Large enough to be functional for most tasks. It serves more audiences, especially overseas. Legal in most jurisdictions. I carry one quite often and it's a very convenient model to carry and use. Especially the light-weight. If anyone hasn't actually carried and used one, it might surprise? I always travel with one.

I wonder if there would be any interest in an UK or the new Lil' Native Slipit? CPM-SPY27, Cobalt Blue scales, 2023 forum knife engraved on the back-spacer spring?

sal

Are we looking at a UKPK with CPM-SPY27 Drop Point blade & Cobalt Blue FRN or G-10 with 2023 Forum Knife engraved on the back-spacer spring for about $100-$125?

A UKPK or Lil'Native Slipit in Spy-27 would be awesome. I'd be in for either one.

I agree , if it happens I truly would like the Forum knife to be available to everyone globally . The UKPK is the perfect platform for members who have restrictions. The SPY27 steel is a great salute to Spyderco , it deserves recognition. MG2
